Rusla:
I think this is a good one, the tilt thing lends itself to the overall
look of the portrait which I find interesing. It makes me want to
know more about this person, which is all you can ask for in a
portrait of someone .
good work.

I have been making portraits with my 8x10 and printing them in
platinum for about 5 years now http://www.rbstudio.com I do not
think of them as sexy but there is a beauty to the process that is
unique.

I make the majority of my portraits with an 8 x 10 camera. I find that if you are a reasonable distance from your subject f/8 or f/11 will give plenty of DOF with a 300mm lens. I put the model in the space and light I want to use then let them find their way. Once settled I focus the camera then look at them directly to see where they are in the set. When I am ready to make the exposure I can tell if they are in the same plane or not, if not I wait till they find their way back.

All the prints on my site are platinum/palladium and all are for
sale. I also list and sell them on the bay. I will be happy to sell
you one direct. http://ww.rbstudio.com

My guess is that you pulled the dark slide on the ground glass
side fogging the sheet, then never exposed the other one, but
that is just a guess.

I am wondering if any one has the 8 x 10 backpack by f/64 and
how they like it or if they know about any other backpacks on the
market. Thanks

I am wondering if any of the photographers here who have web
sites with prints for sale, make any sales. I come across sites
on the web that offer prints for sale all the time but I wonder If
anyone buys them.

I make most of the portrait photographs I do these days on 8 x
10.

I am admittedly an newcomer to this forum, so I had no idea that
photographs were not to be posted. I like to look at other
photographers work, I think that is one of the best things about
the web. I also like to have photographers look at my work. An
artist can only make work and look at it themselves for so long,
then they need other people to look at it and share the
experience, to complete it really. That does not mean the work
has to be made with the audience in mind, it just means that for
me I need to have my work seen. The times I have posted an
image I enjoyed the feeling of knowing people had viewed it, and
I liked the feedback I received via email.
I find the galley section on this forum to be hard to use and look
at, and the voting system not what I am after. I guess for me the
best idea is to post images here and if people do not want to
look at them, they can use the back button.

I photograph nudes as well as portraits with my 8 x 10 all the
time. I find that the slow moving nature of the view camera helps
my work, and the built in serendipity of not being able to see at
the time of exposure lends a sense of reality to the photograph. I
work in the studio with natural light so the exposures tend to be
around 1/15 @f/8 and I am still able to make my work. you can
