I have used an F3 and a N80 as i owned one and borrowed the other. The manual focus
on my N80 was so touchy and hard to focus that i hated using it in manual focus. If I were
you i'd buy the manual focus as since my N80 was stolen i am gettin an all manual camera
as i liked the feel of them due to them being made of metal and better material then my
plasticy N80.
The N80 is a great camera quite, decent focus but i wasn't a fan of the manual focus on it
nor not having an aperture ring but i think that is how most stuff is going nowadays.
Just my 2 cents.

Welp to make it short. My N80 was stolen and all i have shot in my short years of
photography have been film SLRs. I was planning on going with a Minolta A2 digital but
the cost is a tad high and the performance at high isos with these cameras is not what i
would like.
I have gotten very interest in rangefinders in the past week or two and the bessa R is 400
from cameraquest with a 35mm lens. I have a minolta dimage scan dual III and it is not
the best scanner by far but i would get a better one eventually. I like street photography
but am a general all around photographer and shoot lots of nature and sports
photography too. Do you guys think a bessa R would be a good choice for me? I would
like to have the instantness of digital but i think i would miss film and the performance is
not as good as i would like.
Any opinions are much appreciated.
Thank you

Thanks for the answers i just wanted to see what kind you guys tended to use if most of
the crowd used RFs or what. I do like the results i have seen from the A2 and i hopefully
will be buying it real soon.

I was wondering what kinds of cameras the general street photographers that post in here
use. I had a nikon n80 i was using for a year but it was stolen so i am looking at the
MInolta A2 digital camera but still considering other cameras. I really would love a
rangefinder but i can not afford a contax g2 or a leica. Just wondering what kind of
cameras you all generally used?
Thanks

Well i am hoping that i get a response to this question. I just ordered from KEH a yashica
T2 camera and i saw a picture on ebay of someone selling one and it looks totally different
from the contax T2. I was expecting them to be the game camera just a different lens on
it but same operations. My sister recommended the yashica as it is the same as a contax
for the most part.
Anyone know?

Nikon N75?
in Nikon
I am in the market for an SLR since i have to give my mom her N6006 back. She said
she will give me her Quantaray 28-80 with f 3.5-5.6 lens to use and I want to get a
nikon 50mm f1.8 prime and a better zoom later. I have never changed the ISO of my
film and don't see myself doing it anytime soon. On the n75 is it a pain to hold a
button to switch the aperture?
Also, should I just use the quantaray lens then pickup the N75 + Quantaray 28-90
on ritzcamera.com or the 28-85 g type on adorama? Or just stay with the one i have
and get a better nikon zoom or prime later?
I was gonna get a N80 but wanna save some money and get something a tad lighter
and use the extra cash to get a Minolta dual scan III since I plan to just get my film
developed with no prints then scan and print on my printer.
Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Thanks guys what I was asking if you guys thought the Nikon 28-105 f3.5-4.5 was
better than the tamron 28-200 f3.8-5.6. I do alot of street photo like people and do
some sports stuff like biking but i can get closer for that. And then i do the normal
nature, architecture stuff. I think I'll use the quantaray then get the nikon zoom and
another prime or telephoto later.
Thanks for the responses more than i got at any other photo forum.

I am getting 500 bucks for graduation and going to buy a Nikon N80 body since I
have to give my mom her N6006 back. I was planning to get the f1.8 50mm nikon
prime lens that is 110. My mom siad she would give me her quantaray 28-80 3.5-
5.6 D type lens. I know it isn't great but all my prints when i get a film scanner are
going to be scanned and printed 11x14 max or put online. Should i go with a 28-
200mm tamron 3.5-5.6 lens or the nikon 28-105 D type that is like 340 bucks? Any
suggestions?
Thanks

My negatives were totally clear or had very very faint marks on the center where the objects were. I will try the test when i finish up the roll of film in there. Thanks for all the help guys.

Yeah pretty much lots of my negative have nothing on them or a real real real faint image or outline of something. I have a roll of color fuji 200 in there in which the first half was shot outdoors at the same time as the half that came out in the B&W gonna see how it works and see if i can take it to my local photo store and see if he might know.
Thanks

I just aquired a Nikon F3 HP from my uncle with a AF Nikkor 35mm lens. I used some C400 Kodak Commercial B&W film and the first half of it came out bad, every negative is blank or has a very very faint image on it. I used Aperture 2 w/ approximately 1/15-1/60 speed with no tripod indoors. All the pictures I took outdoors on a sunny day (diff time) were all aperture 5.6 to 16 with a shutter spd of 125-2000 and they all came out fine. Could the first half be just because i didn't understand the metering system fully yet or because of my camera?
Any help or ideas are appreciated.
Best digital camera in the 3,4, and 5 megapixel class.

After reading reviews and playing with them if you don't need RAW then get a Canon A80.
Partial metal body, little chromatic abberations when taking pictures. Goes for 279 on
