Excellent shot, interesting person and place well presented. Barrel maker = cooper, as I recall.

Congratulations on the discovery. I like the black version better as the water is more obvious- but a neutral background would be better still, as Mars tends to blend with the inky blackness in this shot. (I will avoid making any remarks about Uranus.)

I have shot a bunch of flower pictures, and never worried about what they were- they were just pretty, and that's what mattered. You've got some great colors in this shot and the blurred background works well.

A good shot- tightly cropped, great timing.

I like the Harley sign where it is. I notice the pants/chaps whatever are very wrinkled- would probably look better with somewhat tight jeans, even if she doesn't ride that way. Also, the pose is a bit awkward, as it looks like she is marginally tall enough- not sure how that would be fixed, though. There's a neat shadown on the floor.

We can't very well refer to a part of a sophisticated machine like that as a "bent nail". Let's just call it a "cold-formed fastening device." :)
I had ideas on how to build a much better version, but once the photos started all looking the same, I lost my motivation.

Good detail and contrast, good sky- I like it.

I didn't know these maneuvers had names. I like the framing of the picture and the action- the handrail running across the diagonal of the frame works well. It would help if the background were a little cleaner- could possibly be improved using a fast lens wide open, or otherwise just a different location.

I first saw this and thought "What's the point? There's nothing there!" But then I realized that WAS the point. I like the starkness of it, the framing effect.
I notice a picture-in-a-picture as well. When I crop out of the jpeg, it's too blurry, but still gets the idea across.

An excellent shot- I like the combination of foreground flowers and background mountains- hard to get tired of that.
As to the "old man and the mountains"- I once went up Greys and Torreys Peaks- and a man and a boy passed me. Seems like the boy was 11 or 12. I started up the Longs Peak trail once, had a fat lady pass me that wasn't even breathing hard. Huffed and puffed my way to the top of Round Mountain (between Loveland and Estes Park) and found a bunch of old white-haired folks that looked like they were right out of the nursing home. You learn humility in a hurry up there.

I like the way it stands out from the background. The leaves on the ground seem awfully yellow as well, so I suspect the hydrant had some help.

They have an annual Auto Swap Meet in a city park near my home, and that's where this was taken. The background vehicle was accidental. It's not a car show as such, but there will usually be some old cars in various stages of restoration, all for sale (as was this pedicab, it was around $2,000 as I recall). My pet peeve with car shows is that the hoods are always raised, but not so at this swap meet.

Looks great, close-up and personal, and he has personality too!

When I was a kid, I wound up with some slices of agates or other colory stones similar to this. I discovered I could make a cardboard mount and then put them in the slide projector, and project the actual rock onto a wall. Brings back memories from long ago! The beauty that can be hidden in something so simple is amazing.

You really have to consider your reason for photographing it. If you want to show the sign, you've accomplished that, and there's really not much improvement that could be made. The negative is a bit different, but with that scene, it won't change a whole lot by inverting to negative or back.
If you're looking for a pretty picture, as opposed to a record of that sign, then I think you'd need to include more material, more of the person holding the sign, perhaps some of the scene around him. I doubt he was just carrying this to work one morning, so I'm sure there's more story than we see.
I've got a couple of billboard pictures that I use for W/NW posts- the billboards themselves are interesting because of the message, but the overall pictures arent noteworthy, and I think this is in a similar category.

I like the dark background- but still with good separation between his jacket and the background. And yes, looks like he's lost in the music.

To be honest, doesn't look like much technique involved here- point and push the button.

I like the serious look on her face. The side lighting works pretty well for her, but gives uneven lighting across the painting.
