I had a couple R3s and really enjoyed the feel and size, especially with the winder.

However, make sure to have the shutter and meter inspected (mine both went bad), and

on cameras of this age you'll probably have to replace deteriorating foam around the film

window on the camera back. If you don't mind a smaller body, the RE (aperture priority

only version of the R5) may be available at similar cost, and has more reliable electronics.<div></div>

Might check with Chrome (mira mesa) and North County Photo (carlsbad). Watts Color (downtown) may still do Type-R prints as well. Otherwise, lots of places you can send things to in LA, just pick up PDN or other trade journal for ads.
