A Rain Shower in California Cowboy Country (Yes, there are still
cowboys in California)
-
An supurb image. The backlighting and exposure are perfect.

What do you think? Does the shadow of the windmill on the barn roof
help or hurt?
-
I think this would work a bit better if you raised the brightness level a little.
All in all, a great shot.

Great Shot(s). I'm curious about 1) where on the rim you were when you took this panorama and 2) THis is the first time I've seen someone add noise to a picture. It'd be interesting to show both w/ and w/o noise.
Again, this is a wonderful photograph

I'll bet you didn't know there is this sort of country in
California. This is about 10 miles east of Oakdale, CA, the self
proclaimed 'Cowboy Capitol of the World'. Lots of western movies
were made in this area and some ranchers still manage their cattle
on the back of a horse.

An attempt to capture the sunset in the water below. I'm learning
both the 300D and RAW conversion via Capture 1. This was the best of
several exposures. Comments?

My first submission to this forum with my new, more serious camera. I
intentionally overexposed the background w/ low backlight to set a
mood of many hours it takes to train a horse.
