Great shot Doug - I think that the grain actually adds to these kinds of pictures. I like to shoot with Ilford Delta 3200 sometimes and it gives a similar effect. Your picture is very atmospheric and might be less so, if it were sharp like Pan-F.

This is a beautiful portrait Frank. Quite aside from the compelling subject, the tonality and delicacy of focus really make this picture stand out. Congratulations!

This is a great picture. The composition and the light are both wonderfully controlled and the subject matter is compelling. The picture makes me wonder where these people might be going and what they might face on their journey. The sun breaking through the clouds and the silhouettes of the soaring birds in the background also lend this image a kind of spiritual atmosphere. Congratulations Manir, this is great work!

That's the best word for this. The shiny penny really draws your eye and once you get over it, you realize that the hand against the out-of-focus background also has quite a presence. And then your eye wanders back to that penny ... I think this photo works really well. Congratulations!

Great tonal and color range. A really captivating image.

A great shot! I wish you had uploaded a slightly higher res copy of it so we could really enjoy the detail in it. Congrats

I would like to have seen the line of the descending water composed more to the right in the frame but the expanse of wall does have some interesting reflections. I think this picture is much better than the previous person rated it.

This is a good picture but if the foreground were sharper and if the tonal variation between it and the misty sky at the top of the picture were more pronounced, this would be a great picture. It seems as if no part of the picture is truly in focus, except the hazy midground, so I'm guessing you focused/metered there, instead of on the foreground.

Beautiful transition of colors from the greens in the water to the blue mountains and sky. This photo is worthy of a place in National Geographic.

I love the dreamlike, sepia tones that the ambient light bestows to this scene. The composition is also lovely

This is a lovely picture and it also led me to your portfolio. Congratulations on all the wonderful stuff you have produced. You really do have a great sense of color, a talent I particularly admire since I am increasingly of the opinion that it's difficult to make really great photographs in color. I'm sorry to hear that your tremor stops you from doing all the drawing you would like to do, but it obviously isn't affecting your ability to make wonderful photographs! I have been inspired to attempt more color by Stephen Shore's "Uncommon Places" and your inspiring portfolio further reinforces this feeling. Thanks for sharing your work with us and best of luck.
