1.
Hi all,
Few weeks ago i was called by a model to take some glamor shoot.
My idea of glamor is that not only the model have to be "glamor" (can involve nudity or not) but also the surrounding environment have to be "glamor".
When i arrived at her place, no MUA and the house was quite "busy", everything but i was not able to find a corner of the house where to shoot what i had in my mind.

So i took this set of photos:

http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/studio/anna-glamor-photo-session/

and tried to mask the environment as much as i was able to in the first 4 and tried to leave everything as it was in the last 2 images.

To be honest with you i'm not very happy with the final result, just because i can't match my idea of glamor with my pictures.

How you could call those pics? Can they be consider glamor (glamour) or are something else?

Thanks

  2.
Hi!,
I was shooting this singing contest few weeks ago with a 70-200 f4 IS from the audience (quite far from the stage), almost all the shoots are made from 1/60 to 1/80 at f4 or f5.6.
http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=1556
I also used for few shoots a Sigma 18-50 2.8 lens.
My body was a 40D so consider the 1.6 crop factor

  3.
Hello,

Lately i'm doing many TFP/CD shoot with female and male models.
I live in Uk and it's quite easy to find a model for TF* shoots.
I keep all this pictures in my personal portfolio, but what happen if one day i would like to use any of this pictures for advertaising my business (that i don't have now). I mean, i don't want to sell the pictures but i would like one day to have my personal photo business and to be able to use any pictures on the front page of my web site to attact clients.
Do i need to make the model sign a model release form for this? Or the fact that we are doing a TF* photo session mean that a release form is not necessary?
Thanks for your answer

  4. Hello,

I have finished to upload all the pictures I took to my trip in Vietnam at this link:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=262

In the above page you'll find all the links to Vietnam sub galleries.

I have already posted the link to 2 of that galleries in the Street Photography forum, but now I have added more

pictures about all the cities I have been there.

There are more than 200 pictures and maybe are too much, probably only half of them are good or quite good but I

would like to share with you one of my best trip ever.

    Thanks for your critiques.

    Giorgio

  5. Thanks to you all for your comments.

Looking at this discussion and especially at your portfolio make me understand that I really need to improve and that

I need to start to look at "things" and people from a different point of view. I will have soon an other opportunity to

travel to the far east so I will try again to get street photography pictures. Well, hopefully I'll come back with

    something better :-)

Thanks to all of you again.

  6. Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your comment.

You are right, I was trying to avoid to be spotted from them, i always think that, expecially busy people, doesn't like to be captured into a picture. So basically i'm always "shy" when i have to take this kind of picture. So, as you say, most of the time i try to be very "quick" and than walk away.

I', having a look at your portfolio now and i have to admit that i have to learn a lot from you, i really enjoy your Koread gallery, grat pics with grat composition.

I will try to learn from your pics.

    Thanks

    Giorgio

  7. Hello,

I have been in Vietnam last month and I have tried to make some "Street Photography".

You can have a look at this 2 gallery if you interested.

I would really be happy if you can suggest to me how to improve, I'm going to travel soon again and I would like to get

some other street shoots so any of your suggestion will be welcome.

    Thanks

  8. Hello everybody.

I like to go around and get birds and animals picture and than post everything into my blog. So last day I have

created a new gallery of birds and animal living close to a pond near my work place:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=177

Into that gallery there are just average pics of birds and pony. From that gallery I have removed one pics of two pony

that are having … fun (open this link only if you don’t mind animals having fun)

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/wp-content/gallery/fleet-pond-part-3/1024_mg_0137.jpg

Now, the thing is, I removed that pic just because I have receive many mail (I really didn’t know that there was many

people looking at my pics) stating that that pic is “dirty” and doesn’t have nothing to do with the others present into

    the gallery.

Now, for me that pic is not dirty, it’s just very natural. I just think that a pic (a nature pic) become dirty only when

who look at it think that is dirty.

What do you think about that, Will you remove that pic from one of your gallery if people ask you do that?

    Thanks for your answer

  9. Hi,

I was shooting a little concert where basically there was not stage with the 40D and the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 and you can see all the pics in this gallery at this link:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=34

And with the Canon 24-105 f4 IS at the gallery at this link:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=50

I was using the camera in manual mode at 1600 ISO (few at 3200), thie ligting was very low.

I was using the Aperure at about f4 or f5.6 with a t of about 1/40 to 1/60 handhelded.

I was also using the flash at -2 just to don't wash away the original colors but open a bit the shadows.

Well, many pics was underexposed but everytnigh was in RAW so i was able to recover most of the pics. I have also used NoiseNinja to remove the noise from the pics.

  10. All this pics in this gallery:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=55

    and part of this gallery:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=38

    and this gallery:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=29

    and this one:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=34

are made with the Sigma 18-50 2.8. I don't know about hte other lens, so i can't compare them with this one. But have a look at that pictures to have an idea of what this lens can do.

  11. Hi,

Here you can find the link to a gallery where i was using the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro on a 40d at 1600 iso.

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=34.

Here you can find the link to a gallery where i was using the Canon 24-104 f4 L IS USM at 3200 iso:

    http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/?page_id=50

These pictures are not very sharp (but the lens are), but the lighting was really really bad that nights so a bit of noise reduction was necessary to remove the noise from underexposed photo :-)

  12. Hi,

    Thanks for your comment.

You are right, that pics are over saturated and at the beginning i did it on purpouse, try to experiment some setting of the camera.

I'll modify the Prague pictures, lowering the saturation. Hope to upload the new pictures withing tomorrow.

Thanks very muck fro you comment again.

  13. Hi!

Since two months ago I have opened my new photo blog http://giorgio-photos.com/wordpress/.

All the pictures in the gallery there are taken with a Canon 40D.

There is different kind of pictures and there will be more soon. I still need to improve a lot my photographic still and

still need to understand how to use the 40D for best result so if you want to leave any comments here or into my

blog that allow me to improve myself or if you just want to talk about techniques and photography, please have a look.

    Thanks

    Giorgio
