Any flash with a synch. cord will do. The 124G has a
standard synch. terminal, and since it's a leaf shutter,
it will synch. at any speed. There is a "cold shoe" on
the 124G (a flash mount with no electrical connections).
I use an old L-shaped grip with a flash mount, it makes
the camera easier to carry and gets the flash up and out
of the way (as opposed to mounting the flash to the body).

Any 4x5 view camera with a "grafloc" type back will take
a Polaroid 405 holder. Perhaps something like a 4x5 Crown
Graphic (more of a "press" camera than a view camera) and a
405 holder would fit the bill. Adding a Polaroid 545 holder
would allow you to shoot Polaroid 4x5 sheet as well.

How can you be sure that the replacement viewing lens is
the exact same focal length of your existing taking lens?
When a lens is made, I would assume that there is a variance
in focal length + or -, and the lens set on a TLR is indeed
a "matched" set (or are there lens/WLF shims?).

Anybody know who converts the Medallist II to 120
and an approximate cost?

DV = distance bed moves between sharp focus of "near" object and sharp focus of "far" object
<p>
- focus on exact midpoint between near and far focus extremes
- Optimum f:stop = square root of (375 * dv)
- works for any lens
- all you really need is a little metric ruler and a chart or calculator
- method does not work where the focus extremes have very different magnifications (where one is close to 1), as in extreme close ups

The Mar/Apr. Photo Techniques has two great articles on focussing the view camera using this method.

There are Bay1 to 46mm converters. 46mm filters
are cheap and easy to find. I think Goodwins
(on the web) has the converters. As for hoods,
they seem to be few and far between. The hoods
are quite small, and with some creativity you
could make one yourself.
