I solved the Windows 98SE ram recovery problem with 2 programs and they are free. I have been using them since 2001...the maxmem sw automatically recovers used memory..I don't have to reboot and I use Adobe Elements 2.o and have 512 ram. As I type I have 373mb of ram free...the little meter by the clock shows it. From www.analogx.com and the sw is Cachebooster and Maxmem ....2 free programs

My only interest is in solving the Win 98SE memory problem. I have no interest in Analogx

For years my favorite was Tri-x rated at asa 200 and developed in Rodinal 1/100. Gives beautiful range of tones, fine grain and very sharp images. Try it some time....I believe you will really like it!! Times were 12 to 15 minutes at 68 deg. More times and dilutions on Massive Dev. Chart.

I'm pretty new at this working with digital files from the camera. Have used CD's for 3 years prior to now. From articles I"ve read, here is what I do (now be gentle with Me) I take the jpeg file of 11,343kb (2272 x 1704) and save it as .bmp or uncompressed tiff, then resize, 550kb (500 x 375) adjust color, contrast, sharpen, and any other adjustments, Save as bmp or tiff, resave as jpeg 9 compression (maintains 90% of image size). By doing all the changes to the bmp or tiff file there is very little or no loss of image quality. For example, this is what the process was for Amaryllis see file.......
http://www.photo.net/photo/1279239 I use mgi Photosuite 111 for image adjustments (not smart enough for PS) Try this I think you will be pleasantly pleased with your final jpeg save.<div></div>
