<p>Hello, I work for a window company. We do windows for interesting buildings such as old, historic pumphouses, train stations, etc...but as we work throughout the U.S. we have a hard time getting photos of the finished buildings.<br>
<br />Is there any sites out there where you can say "I need a picture of XXXXX building and will pay $xx for it?<br>
Thanks in advance if anyone has any idea. As a photographer I would love to take them myself but am always tied to my desk here!</p>

Carry a handgun concealed, seriously.
It sounds dramatic, but I wouldn't go to those places without one, but personally I'd be too afraid to go anyways.
-
Well, you're gonna probably have to go somewhere where you can speak to the technicial personally, they are going to have to change the way they process your film so that you get usable results
-
just make sure you go to a DECENT photo shop and explain to them, it will cost a little more than usual however.
-
they can pull process the film with adequate results

Snapshot Photo in Eau Claire, Wisconsin is where I get HIE developed, they do print it on color paper though >:(

Tripod for the xmas lights, bracket...same for the stained glass

You're gonna have to take some test shots I think, especially for the flash exposure, I made a flash diffuser out of the bottom of a rubbing alcohol bottle, and it helps bounce the flash around.

I just bought the plustek opticfilm 7200, it will be here this week, I shoot Velvia, so I'll post some sort of review. I have heard mixed reviews on this scanner, so hopefully it won't be too bad, I just couldn't afford a Nikon Coolscan...we will see I guess
-
I want to see the results now, please post when they arrive!

Awesome John! I also love film, and thought I was one of the youngest ones out there(I'm 24).
-
yeah, sort of a reciprocity problem, sometimes you should use a color correcting filter for those kind of shots
-
too vague, give more info, if you want a cheap 100mm macro, vivitar makes a pretty good lens (I own one)
-
I know a place in Wisconsin, said for strict processing it is around $5 a roll (for HIE), will print on color paper, total price for 36 4X6's is around $16/roll.

one time in australia I asked for a hand check of film at the metal detector, he said sure thing, looked in the canisters, then sent it through the metal detector before I could react...i kid you not...I had half my film developed before I left, the other half was ruined by this guy
-
Yeah, you snip it off, and then feed it in, it automatically rewinds itself to the exact size it is when you first buy the film, so you don't have to worry about ruining any exposures. I don't know if the camera you are using allows this function though?
Using Kodak, HIE, I (IN TOTAL DARKNESS), use a can opener to pop it open, and I sort of suck doing it this way. I don't know if it's because the negative is so thin, or I am just bad at it.
-
I use the custom function on my Elan to leave the leader outside the film roll (unless I'm shooting infrared of course), it makes it pretty easy.
-
And with a square sensor, you'd never have to turn the camera for a vertical composition. I think you're on to something.

Tamron 28-75mm, check Photo.net's review
-
I can't compare them, but I'm happy with my Tamron on an Elan 7. I was also on the fence while trying to decide between these two lenses, but in the end, the 2.8 aperature was the deciding factor.
-
I also like the Tamron 28-75 zoom, as someone who owns the 50mm 1.4, I still found the zoom's optical quality to be adequate for my use. The 2.8 aperature is also very useful sometimes.
-
Ok, I started out in photopgraphy with a Rebel 2000, and have
upgraded to an Elan 7, so I know the differences between these
cameras. However, my dad is starting to get into photography, and
I'm not sure which lower cost camera is the best choice now (Ti, G,
G2, KII, 2000). Does anyone know which Rebel is the best, or are
they all basically the same thing?
Thanks in Advance!

I just ordered the tamron 28-75 yesterday after many comparisons. I'll have some shots up next week.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all opinions given, and now I'm headed to Ebay to find an SRT-101
Is there a website where you can pay for someone to take a photo of a building?
