  1. Just dreaming, its cloudy and cold out there.

I have 6 rangefinder Leicas, two of them are M3's, all were purchased

used, will I ever buy a new Leica?

Yes, but not the rumored digital M, it will have to be an all new M3,

all manual with no meter, the 1950's technology at its best.

    Thanks,

    Vahe

  2. I started with the "old" ASA-10 Kodfachrome in the late 50's, and have used K25's and now the K64's, I also used Ektachromes when Kodachromes were not available overseas, all my Ektachromes from 50's, 60's and 70's are now brown&white slides, the color has evaporated, some were processed overseas and some were done here in the US.

To me the K25 was the best Kodachrome, the K64 has so far been a disappointment, I have to start experimenting with other films.

    Thanks,

    Vahe

  3. I was 21 then and about to turn 65 now.

Well, not really, my first Leica was a Russian Zorki, a straight copy of screwmount Leica with a copy of 3.5 Elmar on it.

But, I did buy my first Leica soon after, an M3 w/DR Summicron, today I have two M3's and four screwmount Leicas.

My favourite Leica is the IIIg, do not ask me why, is it the classic look? I can not explain so let us leave it at that.

    Thanks,

    Vahe

  4. Seeking recommendation for the best place in US to service my IIIg

    shutter.

The camera ended up in bank safety box following house burglary, it

stayed there for some 8 to 10 years, it was in perfect condition but

    now the shutter is "sticking".

The camera is in mint condition with 2.8 Elmar lens, and is not for

sale at any price, I am looking for the most reputable place to get

    this baby serviced.

    Thanks in advance,

    Vahe
