Run it a few times every day. Preferably with film in it.

Just a plain F (or F2) finder and an old, beat up 24/2.8. That's it, really...
-
You sure got *me* drooling here, being an F-fan and all. Well, that's it then - I'm going to load up my own '65 F with something sweet. Right. Now.

Olympus Stylus Epic x 2.

I have a 50/2 A, a 50/1.8 AIS, a 50/1.4 AI and a 55/2.8 AIS Micro. They all have different characteristics. That's why some people have more than one fifty.

Hey look you guys, he also has the 8x10 screwmount Leica:

Love your work, John.

Whoops - I ordered an 803.
-
I have just ordered one out here in the Netherlands. Apparently the store I ordered it (www.fotokonijnenberg.nl) still has it catalogued. I'm still waiting for a confirmation though, apparently it's on backorder.

Anyone who has experience with old Leicas and colour negative film?
-
I have a chrome F Photomic T with an ASA scale going up to 6400. Never seen anything like that. Its shutter might need an overhaul (it has a really weird leak or reflection), but it's a fine beast. I rarely use the meter though, since I bought my Gossen Digisix. I'm thinking of going after a plain F2 prism, it also fits the F.

My guess is that it's an auxiliary lens for one of the fixed SLR Nikons. Maybe the Nikkorex zoom: http://www.nikon.co.jp/main/eng/portfolio/about/history/d-archives/highres/slr/nikkorex/zoom35_i.jpg

But a big sensor requires extremely bulky lenses to be able to exploit the inherent image potential of the sensors.

Oh yes, Canon's primes are really 'bulky'. Especially the 50/1.8.

Mine is a Zeiss Ikon Contina 1A from '53/54. Still a very nice user. I have an auxiliary Voigtlnder rangefinder that goes with it.

Alex Majoli. That man is a modern hero and should be my mentor.
-
I've seen the bags too, they are cheap indeed. Too bad shipping (at least to Europe) is more than the bag itself. And yes, I'm thinking of supporting the original.
-
I have a Contina 1 with a Novar lens. Nice lens, and it works great with my Voigtlnder rangefinder on top of it.
-
Never. I always have my waterproof Stylus Epic in my pocket.
-
You could try to find one of the smaller Metz units with the appropriate flash shoe. I have a Metz 32 MZ-2. It's a bit 'warmer' than Nikon flashes, and you can get them for cheap, too.
-
You're not ranting that much. I have a 35EF. That's one killer lens indeed - though not a pre-1970 classic, ofcourse.
-
By the way - I mostly carry a Nikon SLR (either an F or an F301) with a 20, 28-50 and 50/1.4 or a Yashicamat 124G with a 35 GSN. Always have a mju:2 by the side. Might witch to a small OM2 system someday...
-
I'm thinking of a black 803 myself, wanting to use it for both my work (as a journalist) and photographing. Though I'm a Nikon/Yashica(mat) user, your system looks great, too!
-
F301/N2000.

Neither is. Get an Olympus Stylus Epic.

This will probably make a very nice landscape P&S but that will be about all.

I'd say a street shooter.
