  1. Question, I have a Maxxum 5 with 2 lenses. One is a minolta 28-80 AF

D, and the other a minolta 75-300 AF D. How can I take real Close Up

pictures using those lenses?? (and not spend much more $?) I have

heard about some close up filters minolta makes like I was thinking

the +2 close up one. Is that any good? Which lense would I use it

on? Would that let me get closer up and still have a sharp picture?

Any input would be great. (I can't really afford right now to spend

    too much money). Thanks.

  2. Question, I have a new Minolta Maxxum 5 and can't decide between

    these lenses:

    Minolta AF 28-80 D/3.5-5.6 versus Sigma 28-105 AF F4-5.6 UC-II

    The other choice is between:

Minolta AF 75-300/4.5-5.6 D versus Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 DL Macro

    super

Can someone please help me and tell me which ones are better. I want

2 good lenses one that goes to 80 or 105 and another that goes to

    300. Are the Minolta or the Sigma a better choice,....I am not

worried about the cost of either.

Also, would a 70 or 75-300 lense be better or worse than a 100-300

lense. Thank you all for your help. I am a beginner trying to learn

    more!

  3. Which lense packages are better and why? These are both on a Minolta

Maxxum 5. The first one is Minolta 28-105/3.5-4.5 AF, and a Minolta

100-300/4.5-5.6 AF. The second package choice is a Minolta 28-

105/f3.5, and a Minolta 100-300/f4.5. How do I know which pair of

lenses are better. The second ones I listed are about $150.00 more,

how come? (Sorry I am a beginner with a lot of questions). Thank

    you to all who help!

  4. Question, I am now trying to decide between a Tamaron AF lens versus

the lenses that come with the Minolta Maxxum 5 and/or the Nikon N65.

What is everyone's opinion on that? Is the Tamaron lense much better

than the Maxxum and the Nikon? Also, they come with like 28-105

lenses and the Tamaron comes in 28-200 and 28-300. Would you get a

lot of distortion using one Tamaron lense that covers such a huge

range as your only lense? or should I just stick with the Maxxum 5

and/or the Nikon N65's 'original' lenses? thanks

  5. Question, I am a beginner and have taken a few photography classes.

I am planning on buying a slr camera and have some basic lense

    questions. 1)what is the difference between a G and a D

lense....etc. and also 2)what do the lense numbers like 3.5-5.6

mean. How do I know if a 2.8-4.0 is better or worse? Thanks.

  6. Question, I am just starting out in the photography field...and have

taken some classes. I have narrowed my camera search down to two SLR

cameras. One is the Nikon N65 and the other the Minolta Maxxum 5,

(they are in my budget). I was wondering in everyone's opinion which

is the better one for me to buy. I will be using both the program

AND the Manual settings while learning. I am confused because I have

heard that Nikon is a better camera, but the N65 has a slower shutter

speed 1/2000 and slower flash 1/90 versus the Maxxum 5 1/4000 and

flash 1/125. So, since the maxxum seems faster do I buy that one

even though it's reputation is not as good as Nikon??? Help!!!
