  1. Thanks for pointing this out Frank, since I'm still learning, I have no problem with beeing lectured.

100$ are surely not worth the risks and causes of illegal smuggling and tax defraudation. 100$ would not justify my friends sweat breakout at the toll station. Actually, 100$, or any amount of money I could save, are not worth commiting any kind of ignoble act. I totally agree with you.

But you have to understand that there are some things I just really WANT, and I'm just checking every possibility to to get it. And with your objections in mind it really seems like I have to find a different way to get my hands on this objet du désir, a less criminal one of course.

Or probably I will get that camera from my friend, it will expand my photographical possibilities, I will enjoy photography a little more, I will eventually pay taxes from the money I earn with photography in future, and at a later point, will lecture youngsters to buy their equipment for the full price at their local camera store =)

    Who knows?

  2. I'm looking for an opportunity to volunteer in the photography

business. I would go anywhere where someone offers an affordable

opportunity and accepts a slightly imperfect english speaking, very

curious and unreasonably enthusiastic tripod boy.

If you know any places which could arrange such an opportunity, some

website that lists internships in your area or you offer such an

opportunity yourself, please post here or eMail me.

    Thanks!

  3. A friend of mine will be in Shanghai later this year and I thought

about letting him buy a Canon 10D camera for me. Is the price

difference between Shanghai and Europe that significant that this is

worthwhile? If not in Shanghai, in which Asian countries could I

    expect lower prices?

I'm aware that in case of a malfunction the warranty will be worthless

    in Europe.

  4. I had the same problem with my fathers AE-1 (SN: 965144). I sent the

photos to Karl Aimo (AE1repair@aol.com) asking him what causes this problem. He said that its a light leak caused by worn and damaged light seals either on the film door or around the mirror.

Depending on where you live, you can send your cam to Karl Aimo or some other place in your area, try to repair it yourself (http://www.micro-tools.com/) or, like I did, buy a used, newer, AE-1.

I got my new one (SN 3546358) from eBay and it works like a charm. And it costed just about as much as getting it repaired or buying all parts I need to repair it myself.

If you choose to repair it by yourself I'll try to remember the exact parts Karl Aimo suggested me to buy from micro-tools.com

  5. On photo.net's page about films I've learned that some films are

less saturated then others are, often reffered to as 'wedding

    films'.

Now I'd like to know which one of these would be the least

satured film from all of them.

I'm only shooting B&W at the moment and would like to slowly

return into the world of colors again, but just not too much of

    them!

Also will such a films advantages (= less colors) still be visible

after cheap 1 hour drug store, or even worse, Kodak drug store

    developement?

    Looking forward to your suggestions.
