Matthew has it right...shutter linkage is an issue with this camera...fix generally costs $ 110 from Frank...

I have owned 3 of these and I have to tell, had a problem with all of them....bellows leak, sync doesnt always work, shutter linkage / winding problems....its too bad as the lens is very good and you cant find many 75mm cameras in 6x4.5, usually the lens is wider...
I have settled on the Fuji G645Zi, incredible camera for the money...slow lens, but everything else is superb

Charles and others - dont get me wrong, its a fine camera and I got mine off of ebay for $ 15....but it does vignette much of the time which *can* be a pain when its noticeable....however, take a look at the quality you can get...shot taken with Kodak 400UC film, and flash, outdoors on a gloomy day

Charles - the AF2 is just an updated version of the AF - but same lens. I can guarantee you have had vignetting on some shots...its not always noticeable.... if you take a continous toned object in lower light or with slow film....you'll see vignetting....this is a physical design issue of the aperture shape....Best, Dan

I have both the Olympus Stylus Epicand the Nikon L35AF2 and while I agree they both have very good lenses, the Nikon has a flaw that cant be overcome...it has ( as far as I can tell ) three aperture settings....the first is wide open, the second: long triangle, the third a small turned square...the first two stops will ALWAYS cause vignetting in the extreme corners...nothin you can do about it...In very bright light, close up flash or using very high speed film - if the camera stops all the way down to its smallest aperture, there is no vignetting...but that wont happen in most cases
On the other hand, the Epic does not vignette at any stop....its a small, but annoying issue that make the nikon sit while I take the Epic everywhere....

I love my Vivitar 283 for fill flash on my many cameras, but its high
voltage is causing me concern for my camera's wellbeing. What Flash
is most like the V283 with normal, low level volatge and ease of use
( I love "dialing-in" fill flash with the colored vivitar 283 wheel )

Pentax 67

I have also done a few pages on cameras:

MY QUESTION:

I really enjoy doing these plus a make a couple of bucks from the
advertising - anyone looking for a lens price & info guide for a

Quick fill flash question
in Wedding & Event
Posted
set your camera to its sync speed....lets say its 1/125....now, setting your shutter to 1/125, meter the background and determine the proper aperture for a good exposure of the BACKGROUND....lets say, using ISO 100 film your cameras reads F11.... leave your camera set at 1/125 at F 11 and set your flash to exposure your group ONE STOP LESS than the stop for the background...so F11 minus one stop is F8.....

so to summarize.... your camera would be 1/125 at F11 and your flash set to F8....

If you use 200 speed film....it would be 1/125 at F16 with your flash set to F11....
I'd use a 160 low contrast film like Kodak 160NC for a shot like this...
