Got your attention didn't it! There are so many ways to get's peoples attention.

That's the title of my latest blog posting. It's all about self publishing using Blurb etc. Frank Petronio was a contributor as well. I'm working with Blurb to get a special first time users discount code so will have that available shortly. Click here.

I have contacted you directly via email thru PN.

Actually I did not consider anything he said with regard to photography to be "unconventional". A good solid course, well presented, loads of examples and lots of time taken to answer individual questions with regard to technique, presentation, anything you could think of.
I'm not American either, so could care less about US politics.

I have known Bruce for years through photography. As mentioned above I have taken his Black and White Photography course as well. Both my wife and I have visited him at his home in addition to this course. In all my contacts with Bruce whether in private or in a group (mixed company) I have never seen him act in the manner described by the one disaffected poster.

Bruce has been putting on these workshops all over the world for decades and I have never heard anything negative. Is he politically outspoken, yes, but then again many Americans are. Is he rude, obnoxious, sexest, condesending? Absolutely not!

Over the years I have found Bruce to be one of the most giving photographers I have ever met. There are a legion of former Bruce students that would back me up on this.
One point to make. This Joseph person has only made two posts on PN. Both to slam Bruce. I suspect he has an agenda that goes beyond Bruces's workshops.

Your doing weddings??!! With the kinds of questions you are asking I hope you are not getting paid as first shooter. Sorry to be blunt.

I probably have a life time supply of Efke PL 100. I love the stuff! The only soup I use is PyroCat-HD with a semi-stand regime. Yes it has some base fog, and yes it scratches very easily. The fist issue is a non issue and the second can be remedied by being careful. There are technically better films out there but I love the look Efke gives me. Since it's about producing art rather than technically perfect prints Efke is just fine for me. If you go to my website www.ericrose.com most of the B&W's have been taken with this film.

double posted due to gateway timeout.

Personally I shoot both a Nikon D700 and a Nikon F5. Mind you I only shoot B&W film in the F5 but I find the look of the film more appealing for what I do. For colour work I wouldn't bother with film unless you are interested in buying a Nikon scanner at the very least. I print my own B&W's so no scanning there.
Once they bring out the new and improved D700 you will be able to buy the existing model for a more reasonable price. If I were you I would start saving for that option.
Your choice will have to be based on intangibles. There is no concrete proof one way or the other that will guarantee you will enjoy shooting film as well as pixels.

looks to me like one of the shutter curtains is dragging.

iPhone's and iPad's are not the most prevalent device used for viewing serious photography sites by serious collectors. Apple is doing all it can to kill Flash which in the end I think will come back and bite them in the ass.
Don't worry about people downloading your web images, they don't print worth a damn anyway. If you are worried about people using them on their sites with out permission there are programs you can buy that digitally sign each image and you can search on the net for any "strays".

Beautiful website. The only thing I might change is the size of your images. When I took a look at the Cuba photos the slideshow images were to small imho.

Check out Sea and Sea or Ikelite housings. Both are great. Personally I prefer the S & S stuff.

You might as well put the cameras on a street corner with a red light over them if you are going to charge to touch them. Geez.
I realize that for someone to be a buyer they must be all ready, willing and able and maybe this is some sort of pre-qualifying maneuver but I feel the people who would pony up for either an M9 or S2 would be insulted by this tactic. Or maybe the one's who really can afford them are given free rein and the rest of the unwashed masses are subject to the pay per touch scheme.

My sweetie. It's our wedding anniversary today as well!

I too shot professionally with Nikons for years. I also have Leica's, an M3 and M5 with Leitz lenses. I would not consider moving to Leica an "upgrade" but rather just different.

-

Funny thing is your exif says you were using a digital fuji camera rather than a Leica.

-

I've tried using a light box with an Epson 2450 and it will still only recognize the 4x9 area. Very disappointing to say the least.

It seems to me you are not interested in what a "mormal" lens is. For something wider the Nikkor 135mm is a wonderful lens and can be had fairly cheaply. Also a Schneider 90mm SA would be within your budget. The 90mm is like using a 24 to 28 mm lens on a 35mm camera. If you go much wider the price starts to climb.
I too use mainly WA's on 35mm gear and MF and I thought that was the way I would lean when I started shooting LF again. I find now I shoot mainly 210mm and 300mm. Naturally if I get into something tight then the WA's come out. If that's the look I want.

Al's not gone, he's just gone underground so to speak. Getting those impossible photos of AA, HCB arguing over everything and naturally well fueled by strong coffee.

Nice shots. I did the same thing about a month ago but with an M3 and 35, 50 and 90mm lenses. I actually waited until I got home to have the film processed. Boy talk about anticipation!
