<p>>>Are you also having trouble with LR4 if you go to Photo - Edit In and try to select your external editing software?<br>
No problems so far. I use Nik SilverEfex Pro and it works just fine.</p>

<p>Hi Peter,<br>
I'm working on my local hard drive, no changes made. Of course I quit LR and tried again, both on my MacBook Pro and on my iMac.<br>
I'd really like to know if this happens to all Mac users (or maybe all LR4 users) or if there is anybody out there for whom the recent folders list works.</p>
-
<p>When I export photos from LR4 (running on OS X 10.7.3) and click on the little triangle in 'Export Location' (right next to the 'Choose...' button) the list of recent folders is displayed, just as it was in previous versions of LR. However, all entries in the list as well as the 'Clear List' item are grayed out and cannot be selected. Frankly said I feel a bit stupid as I'm quite sure I'm missing some tiny detail...</p>

<p>Hi,<br>
I just updated my website at <a href="http://www.cabophoto.com/">http://www.cabophoto.com/</a> using SlideShowPro Director. In contrast to my previous site, which had an HTML page with keywords for each picture, the new design has only one master page; the photos are shown in the SlideShowPro player (Flash).<br>
Is there any way to extract the keywords from the images stored in SlideShowPro Director and create a search engine friendly structure from them? Any Flash-based form of presentation must have this problem, so I guess there will be a solution out there…<br>
Many thanks in advance<br>

<p>Hi Clive,</p>
<p>I did most of the shots kneeling, so I could get something interesting (like the Ferris wheel) into the background without making it overly busy.</p>

<p>Over the last two weeks I photographed visitors to the annual Easter funfair in Cologne, Germany. You can see the photos assembled into a slideshow (including sound recorded at the fair) at <a href="http://www.cabophoto.com/SlideShows/KirmesKoelnDeutz2010/" target="_blank">http://www.cabophoto.com/SlideShows/KirmesKoelnDeutz2010/</a>.<br>

<p>Mike,</p>
<p>many thanks for your kind words. I was in Darjeeling twice; the first time in early 2007 and again in late 2008. On the second trip there was no 6 a.m. 'school train' any more, it seemed to me that there were only tourist runs. They had exchanged most of the original cars for more comfortable, newer ones, which IMHO totally defeats the purpose.</p>
<p>Best regards</p>

<p>Over the last weeks I have created several slideshows of mainly travel pics. They present the pictures in a rather static way, one after another without any motion.</p>
<p>Then I remembered a program I bought last year, Soundslides Plus, which allows for a 'Ken Burns effect' to be configured for individual pictures.</p>
<p>I can't really make up my mind if a straight presentation is more appealing or one where I used this effect. I'd be happy to hear your opinions regarding one or the other. To give you an idea: at http://www.cabophoto.com/SlideShows/DHR/ is a static presentation, at http://www.cabophoto.com/SlideShows/DHRSP/ the same contents with a 'Ken Burns effect' in some pictures.</p>
<p>Many thanks in advance</p>

<p>Don,</p>
<p>I already asked Zeiss about upgrading the older ZF lenses. In short the answer is 'no'.</p>

<p>I have used the 80-200/2.8 push/pull AF-Nikkor on a D300 extensively without problems. No extensive power consumption, and BTW optically this lens is excellent.</p>

Brendt,
yes, it does autofocus with AF, AF-D and AF-S Nikkors.

Hi,
I've been using Lightroom 1.x since it was released. One of the features I always liked was that keywords were
auto-completed once I started typing them. This doesn't seem to work in Lightroom 2.0. Does anyone know if there
is a setting for this feature (couldn't find one so far)? Or has it been dropped?
Many thanks in advance

Chris,
to me 'wireless' indicates 'without wires', which could be radio, infrared (or visible light, for that matter) or any other kind of trigger that does not require a wire. But then, I'm not a native speaker of the English language, so maybe I'm missing something here.
Cheers

Hi Edwin,
I shoot RAW and set the white balance in Lightroom to whatever matches best the impression I had when I shot the picture.

Arthur,
>>Why not use the best NEF converter --- CaptureNX?
for instance because not everyone likes its user interface...and not everyone wants to use a special converter for each and every digital camera he owns...
Cheers

The D700 NEFs can be processed by ACR if you fool the converter into thinking they come from a D3. I've posted a link to more info about how to do that here: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00QJ2p

Hi Simon,
I used the little utility discussed here: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1021&thread=28743455 (hope nobody minds the link to another forum).
Cheers

P.S.: P.P.S.: don't be surprised that the captions say 'Nikon D3'. That's just because I had to patch the NEF files to fool ACR into accepting them. The last picture was converted with Capture NX2, so it correctly says 'Nikon D700'.

Hi,
I just put up a few shots I took of musicians in Zurich yesterday and the day before with my new D700. Lenses
used were 24-70/2.8 and 50/1.4. The pics can be seen at http://www.cabophoto.com/External/ZurichSoul/index.html
The available lights shots were done at ISO settings between 1600 and 3200; the ones where I used flash were at
ISO 400.
Cheers

Fortunately it runs OK on my Windows system, although I wish they had the Mac version out by now. I do see some improvement in the RAW engine after a cursory test.
What I never liked about DxO Optics Pro is the user interface. I find it counter-intuitive in many places and cumbersome in others. There seems to be no way of importing presets made in V4 into V5, for instance.

Steven,
thanks a lot! I just tried the 'alias method' (without creating an alias; you can just drag the hueyambient.app into the Login list. Works just fine.
Many thanks
