i have the Sigma 100-300mm ex f4 - it is fantastic
Maybe consider the the Sigma 120-300mm 2.8 EX hsm
-
i had no issues with the sigma 12-24mm on Fuji S2 pro but had plenty with a Nikon 12-24mm F4. The Nikon had soft spots about a third off centre and poor flare control. The sigma was a little soft at the edges but not much, it had great flare control compared to my Nikon. Does this mean all sigmas are better than Nikon's? OF COURSE NOT its just means I got a bad sample of a Nikon and a great sample of the sigma.
I would have bought a sigma again after it was stolen but I got a great deal on a Minolta &d and Minolta 11-18mm.
Just check my folder here

You could go the Tamron 300mm 2.8 SP LD AF, its very good, it doesnt focus as fast as the SSM version from Minolta but its sharp wide open but things really improve from f4 onwards to about f16.

Hi
Im a bit confused, if i have a 82mm polarizer and want to attach it to my lens
which has a 77mm thread. Which do i need step up or step down
cheers

try the sigma 10-20mm which is very good (just get a good sample), the tokina 12-24mm is a great lens (nice and sharp) and the Tamron 11-18mm ( great flare control)

At 1.5x the peling will be like a 16mm fisheye on fullframe, lots of distorion still, just smaller black corners
-
0.8x means it will give a reduction of 0.8 in focal length eg a 35mm field of view becomes 28mm. the ebay ones are generally not good.

happy now
thanks

item not avaliable until 28th july not prepared to wait

i bought an item on ebay from a German ebay photo shop and paid for
express shipping of 4-6 days. after 3 weeks it still has not
arrived. i emailed the seller who said
"our supplier has delivery problems. We received at 28 calendar week
and you to get a filterhandbook"
anyone know what 28 calender week is according to my english that
would mean mid July.
i find this rather funny as the items are still being auction on
ebay by the seller. i emailed for more clarity and a shipment date.
none has been given. i have emailed for a refund but havent heard
from them. the 30 day paypal fraud refund is fast approaching should
i file a claim? or wait? they have very high feedback ?
cheers
btw the item is a b+w kaesmann slim polarising filter 82mm size at
$273 Aus it was expensive.
