I noticed that the 1gb IBM microdrive is significantly cheaper than a

1gb compactflash card - $220 versus $300 for a lexar WA CF. What's

the main difference between them? Why would I want one or the other?

Wow, photo.net rocks! Thank you all for your opinions. I think that I'm going to spend my money on a 105d 2.8 micro instead, since I do the majority of my shooting with a tripod, and really want a macro lens. I think that in the future, as I buy more lenses, I'll get a mix of zooms and primes, depending on what I need.

Hey all. I've been seriously considering expanding upgrading my set

of nikon equipment to higher quality stuff, and am now wondering what

differences I will notice if I replace my $90 28-80G with a $570

24-120G ED-IF AF-S VR, besides, of course, the greater range of focal

lengths.

I'm pretty much a newbie to higher-end lenses and such; I currently

only have an N80 and the 28-80G and a 70-300g lenses.

I'm just starting to build up my supply of camera equipment; currently

all I have is an n80 and a 28-80g and 70-300g lens. I'd like to get a

flash next, but I'm overwhelmed by the different features and

hard-to-decipher numbering system Nikon uses.

I'm looking for a general-use flash, something I could use outdoors

for a fill flash, possibly with macros if that's plausible, or for

snapping portraits. I like the idea of using a difusing reflector on

a tilted flash, for softer light, but I know so little about those

diffusers that I'm not sure I need to tilt it or not, depending on the

diffuser I get.

Can anyone reccomend something to me, or point me to a website that

has some nice comparisons or something?
