  1. My sister at Santa Cruz, Ca., circa 1957, using my mother's Kodak roll film camera. The good composition was accidental.
  2. Beautiful; almost makes me want to drag my view camera out of the closet again.
  3. Something happened in PNet where I could not add a title directly to my image. The photo of the moon setting at dawn was taken on a cold (0 degrees F) yesterday morning. The prominent pink band is the "Belt of Venus", which lies along the earth's shadow, and is due to scattering of blue light away from direct sunlight.
  4. For years, I drove past an old cabin next to a meandering stream that I thought would make a great photograph. The lighting never seemed quite right or I was in too big of a hurry to get where I was going. Then, suddenly, the cabin was torn down. Now, when I drive past that stream, I think of the opportunity missed.
