  1. So you've waited three years to save but ended up spending more than $3300 (2x 5D's) anyway...see I spent the

$3300 upfront and spent three years making photographs.

And Sarah it's called "Humor" Mr Stone's been talking about this here and on the Pentax forum for years.

  2. Can you go to a store and pick up a few bodies to see how they feel and what the weigh. For travel you would do well to also consider the Pentax K200D a tiny weather sealed body with tiny prime Limited series of lenses. You could add the K20D later if you need higher res body, which you have become used to with the 5D.
  3. Lighter is better for the last few years my travel kit has been 5D, 17-40L, 50 F1.4 and 70-200L F4 (now have IS). All your lenses are big and heavy maybe you should take out a kit and spend a day walking around the city see how it feels. Don't forget you will need a carbon fiber tripod and small ball head for sunrise /sunset and for landscapes with DOF. 2-3 months in a humid climate is tough so I might be tempted to consider what was said above one body and a few primes in the 24-85mm range. My motto now is less gear usually means more keepers.
  4. I've been using the 5D since it's introduction and I live in a coastal town in MA. I shoot with it full time, I've spent many hours on the beach, in harbors, close to water both locally and down on the Cape with no ill effects. I paid a lot more than $1700 but so far it's been worth every penny.
  5. B+H already sells the ZF (for Nikon) range from Zeiss so I"m sure it's only a matter of time

before they do likewise for the ZK line. The ZF 50 F1.4 sells for $492 and the ZF 85 F1.4 for

    $984.

  6. I've used the Flextight for about four years with no problems, it's built to be used daily and

simple to operate, the d-max is real as stated by Imacon not some fuzzy mumber most of

the other makers seem to come up with.

One thing to think about is your computer set up, if you are using a newer Mac with OSx your

    older Flextight's are not firewire.

  7. Recently upgraded to a Mac Pro and continue to use my Epson 2200. In the past when I sent a file to the

printer the queue would appear and I could follow what's printing or cancel etc. Now for some reason I

cannot locate the printer queue in the utiliities, there are some files in there I'd like to cancel. Would

apprecaite any Mac users out there with info on what sould be an easy fix?

  8. OK probably a dumb question but I'm trying to use a Morris Flash Trigger Kit to trip some Speedo

lights. Transmitter is pretty sefl evident slips onto camera hotshoe but the receiver, where does it

connect? It has a large jack which seems like it connects to a pc adapter where does it plug in. I woould

of thought to a lighthead the 102 head just has a modeling switch. Anyone out there using a blackline

set up can point me in the right direction...Speedotron TS are on holiday till next week.

  9. You can contact HP but I'm nearly sure they will say you need to send your camera back to

Linhof in Germany for repair. That's what happened to me about two years ago when my

617s (fixed lens) needed a small repair. You have to call them and get the address, send

your camera, they do an estimate and then send you their banking tranfer info. You have

to deposit the cost of the repair in thier bank and then wait for the repair....three weeks

minimum but they do a great job, they even cleaned up my viewfinder and recoated it

without me asking. The girls in (linhof) customer service do speak some English.
