Hello Andrew,
I own both of the lenses you mention. I have been shooting the h..l out of my Rigid. IN
fact, I returned the latest version of the 50th, and instead went with the Rigid. It is simply
phenomenal. The collapsible has incredible qualities, and in some ways smoother than
the Rigid. Are you in NY? You could check mine out if you like. I love the images of the
collapsible, especially for color work. Send me an email, if you like.

Thanks Steve,
This does not seem to be the case. However, there is a small metal piece next to the left
wheel. There is no center portion to this wheel. I can turn the aperture indepently, but
not the shutter speed. Whenever it moves, so does the aperture. The solution seems to
be select shutter, then selct the independent aperture. I would love for them both to be
uncoupled. Can anyone help further?

Hello All,
I recently bought a Rolleiflex 3.5F Xenotar. Upon arrival, I noticeds that this particular
model has the shutter wheel(right) coupled with the f stop wheel(left). I need this to be
decoupled, as I am using my own metering, of course. For the life of me, I cannot seem to
figure this out. Help!

Thanks so much for your responses. Also, I have threads on the front. Is this a
34mm filter? I have a few of the wonderful a36's, but just curious if anyone actually
used a screw-in filter.

Hello All,
I have a questions about my 90 Elmar ltm. When adjusting the aperture ring,
sometimes it rotates the focusing ring ever so slightly. I do realize on this lens that
while focusing, to keep the aperture in its set position, the whole upper half of the
barrel rotates. Is there an adjustment to 'loosen' the aperture ring ever so slightly
from the focusing?
Many thanks,
Jeffrey

Hello Ben,
I would but my scanner broke, and I am consdering a new one. No pics or chromes
were scanned before it went crazy. I travel to Bergen at least 4 times a year. What an
incredible place. So relaxed and beautiful. I love your portfolio. How about the tram
up to the top? Spectacular.
all the best,

Hello All,
I would like to have a UV filter for my newly acquired 90mm screwmount Elmar lens.
Serial number is 1338156. I am having trouble locating the proper filter. I think
that it is a 36mm threading. Can anyone help with information?
Also, can you tell me the proper hood?

Hello All,
Just a thank you for the recommendations of both Ken Lieberman and DAG. I had Ken
blow up a negative to 20x30 of a very sharp landscape scene in Bergen Norway. It
was mounted on 'gator board' for display. I have never seen such clarity in this type
of enlargement. His work is simply wonderful.
In regards to DAG, he sent my lens back to me within a week, and it now feels as
though it is new. He was a pleasure to speak with on the phone, and is obviously a
real perfectionist. I am sold.
Again, both of these people were recommended to me by this board, and I wanted to
share my positive experiences.
thanks again,
Jeffrey

Thanks Al,
I met him today after your recommendation. He seems to be incredibly experienced,
and answered all of my silly questions.

Hello All,
Can you suggest a lab in NYC that does nice work priniting 16x20 enlargements, both
color and b & w?
Thanks for your help,

Helo All,
I am hearing a strange, loose sound when I move my 35 Summicron-M lens around.
It sounds as though a part is loose, like a ball bearing, inside the lens. This is a pre-
aspheric version (4th) of the 35mm. The images have not been affected in any way,
but was wondering if I should send this in to be checked out, or if it is in some way, a
common occurrence.
Best to all,
Jeffrey

Chip,
The 50 lux is outstanding. I have one from the 60's, scalloped focusing ring, etc. It
is sharp, contrasty, super smooth in regards to color rendition, three dimensional
look, etc. If they do update it, it will only bring it closer to the look of the other ASPH
lenses, which look to my eyes, very digital, one dimensional, flat. Super crisp and
sharp, but not what the eye sees.
The 50 lux has a classic "leica" look.

Thank you all very much.

Can someone help with the specifics of my Summilux M 50mm f1.4 lens? The serial
number is 2198868. It has the scalloped focusing ring and is a heavy chrome. What
year was this produced, and which "version" is it? Just curious.
Thanks to all in advance.

Jeffrey
p.s Thanks Matt Marek for this incredible lens. Be well Matt.

Bas,
This photo does speak to me. I love what is NOT there, and what feelings are
brought up. Very romantic. Reminds me of Brassai.

Thanks Ralph. I needed to know because I looked at this for a very long time,
admiring certain qualities, but just couldn't figure out how you did this. In any case, I
LOVE it.

Ralph,
Another beauty. Can you give us some technical specs.
Many thanks,

Hello Simon,
I believe the 19mm HAS an integrated four filter system, built in.

News: 50/1.4 ASPH (from LUG)
in Leica and Rangefinders
Posted
Hello All,
As a user of a second generation Lux (which I purchased from Matt M from this board-
Thanks Matt!), I can attest to the fact that this lens produces super contrasty, beautifully
toned images at all apertures. When I shoot Tri-X, indoors, the images are practically 3D.
I also own a 35 LUX Asph, and this lens, while also produces wonderful stuff, can
sometimes have a 'false' digital look, especially in regards to seperation of main subject
and backround. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am curious id this new lens will
take away what is already incredible about the 1962 lens design. Maybe they really will
not compare, much like the ASPH 35's to their earlier brothers.
Thoughts?
best,
Jeff
p.s. I also feel this way about my RIGID cron, which blows away the new version.
