yes the first image is badly burned around the edges, but my observations still stand, I have done this plenty of times, and so have many others......try it sometime.

green filter (especially for the freckles), and creative mix of lighting (ambient/flash) I doubt #2 has the background added in ps, this look is easily done on film with the lighting suggestions mentioned above. Jeez, there was such a thing as special effects before ps you know.

why would I piss on her success? the idiots are the ones who purchase the syrupy snapshots...sorry I don't see any talent here, vision or craftwise. jealous? I don't think so.
more power to her....there's one born every minute and some of them must be here.
-
thank her for what? for bringing down the image of photography/photographers to an all time low?? the above was right, very cheesy, and that crap doesn't take a lot of talent to shoot.

there are only good or bad images....

why restrict yourself so ?

the answer as it pertains to Adams is simple, he said himself that he never had time to get to many of his images even to contact print them, his time being consumed by issues of conservation, and the fact that people constantly requested his "old standards" for display or sale.
-
just think of all the archived negs that we may never see. Adams shot over 40,000 negs and I'm sure we've only seen a small fraction of them. wouldn't it be great if they made a cd collection that you could rummage through to get a better idea of his total works?

I would have to disagree Chris, I work in large/medium format and work for nice smooth tonality, the one ink comb. I have mentioned works fine for this.
-
I would say that the difference in latitudes between b/w and neg. color would depend on how you expose/develop your b/w.
-
do a gaussian blur of .7 and see what that does for you.

I shoot/dev. tmax 100 in tmax rs and print on an epson 2000p with black ink only, usually printing on epson luster and get prints that are much better than my traditional prints.

never ever stay in a cabin at yosemite during the high season, the cabins are filled with loud teenagers. it left a bad taste in my mouth for yosemite.
-
why not just get an anti-static brush (non radioactive) and quit blowing dust around....
-
and to think I could be shooting right now.....

so...I've lurked here for some time, Scott, what's your hangup with art photographers...did someone slam your work and scar you for life, or what?
