    Christopher,

I shot it as ISO 200, f4 at 1/1000 with a white balance of Cloudy -3 at 1:44 p.m. The sun kept peeking in and out of the clouds that day. I shoot primarily on the Cloudy -3 WB, even in sun, especially for sports.

I like the lens, although it is the lens I am provided by work. Personally, I prefer my Canon 70-200 L f2.8, but that is my personal lens that I sue on a Conon 10D, which isn't the greatest camera for shooting sports.

For this shot I was about 10 feet off the back right-hend corner of the mat she landed on, so the crop you see is almost full-frame. I think that is what helps most with the detail, being close.

    Thanks for the comments.

Also, regarding the cropped feet in an earlier post, I like the cropping of the toes, personally. I think the curve of the space around her body draws attention to the curve of her body, which is what I find compelling about this thletic event, how they throw themselves basically around, rather than over, that bar. WHen I look at that aspect of the photo, my eye starts at the bottom and travels counter-clockwise around her, travelling over her face and its expression to finally end where her eyes are pointed.
