1.
Fantastic shots Ive been using the same film this summer with RZ and 50mm also. I adj 4mm for Infinity as per the manual.
Im going to switch to Pentax67 for everything other than landscapes since it has IR marking on lens.
I suggest giving the Lee87 filter a try also its under $20 and gives a stronger wood effect than 89B spec filters
2.
I see no reason to buy RB other than lower cost. Im sorry but I call BS on the battery issue. How hard is it to keep spares in camera bag ??? The batteries last for several hundred rolls of film.
The myth that battery driven cameras are less reliable are Urban Legend in my view.
My main reason for going RZ over RB though was for studio photography I wanted hotshoe for wireless triggers.

  3.
I use my RZ Pro with AB cybersync and Skyports off the hotshoe only with no issues. One of the reasons I chose the RZ was the hotshoe for flash triggering
The other guy must have a malfunctioning body. My friends RZ Pro II works the same way.
Shutter speeds above 125th have not been any issue either.

  4.
I just shot my 1st roll of Efke in 120 and got very strong wood effect using a Lee 87 gel filter
I was only able to make one crappy test before my scanner went belly up
ISO 1-3 seems best starting point with that filter
Here is a pdf data sheet on EfkeIR 820
I pay 5 bucks for color 120 Develop only at Manhattan Color

  6.
Brian I have been building an RZ kit from KEH over the past few months 1st a body then 180mm W-N lens and a 50mm Wf4.5
You absoultley have to read the manual for this camera front to back to use it correctly. The sound you heard was a warning buzzer.
Sounds like it was working normally.
My KEH experince has been very positive
Here are some links to RZ user documents
7.
I just got an RZ back in Oct had a problem with some of the backs and sticking problems. When the backs are worn out that they make the ugly noises and the film doesn't advance properly.
Send it back though it can only get worse.

  8.
I think the mirror slap myth is a bit of urban legend esp when shooting handheld. What better material to absorb vibration than soft mushy flesh ?? Tripod mounted yes...metal is the perfect conductor of vibrations, your hands are the perfect absorber of vibrations. Look at this Hasslebald video

I have been testing with a Pentax 67 for a few months one of the worst offenders if you read forums much. I have been able to make what I consider good quality images down to 1/15 sec handheld.
Rent an SLR do some testing judge for yourself

  9.
Just another plug for KEH I live in NYC and have bought most of my Mamiya parts from them other than local stores. KEH has better prices for better condition equip than either BH or Adorama.
I have found a few deals locally but in general KEH is the way to go. Their customer service is outstanding.
I plan on going to fotocare to check out flextight film scanner demo.

  10.
You need a motor drive cable to connect the PW to your camera
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/367393-REG/PocketWizard_804_509_CM_E3_Motor_Cord.html
Depending on how many packs you are usig a min of 4 PW unts are needed.
One PW used to fire the camera
One unit connected to the camera through the shutter release
One unit in the camera hotshot to fire strobe pack
One unit connected to Flash pack to receive sycn signal
