When I first looked at this POW, you could have photographed pretty much the same expression on my face -- this is great, I love it! And it doesn't wear out.

I agree with Rob Bernhard above: the size is much too small for me to appreciate it. Should be at least twice as large. The composition is not "bold and simple" enough to work in that small size. But it does look promising. So I would appreciate a larger version. Thanks.

This picture is quite amazing. Although I've never been there, when seeing it for the first time, before looking at the caption, I immediately thought that this must be Winter in St. Petersburg.

 

Just for comparison, I would like to see a version without the fuzzy edge effect -- how was it done? -- If by software, then it would be easy to have various degrees of the effect. In particular when I imagine to look at a reasonably-sized print (i.e., at least 30x30cm), the effect as it is now might be a bit too strong imho.

Maybe the feeling would actually be even stronger without the artificial effect.

 

But in any case, definitely a classic picture about Winter in St.Petersburg (even for a person who has never been there).

One of my favourite POWs. The girl seems to know how to make the best of things; the boy looks envious for not having such a comfortable chill-out option.
