Thank you all
I have my answers.
1) It is possible to do it already with a colour sensor (but 4 time less pixels on the
chip)
2) The market would be too small for such a product
The last look like the reason!
-
Since leica message is : We cannot make a digital camera that takes M lenses due
mainly to color filters on sensors.
I would be very happy with a full frame high quality black and white M camera body
Do you think it is possible ?
Will leica read this suggestion ?

One is currently for sale after being relisted

Another one went for 4000 US $ new box not opened from the factory

Moritz is right.
Sorry Manfred, i posted without taking the time to get full documentation about
your question :-)
You gave another proof if needed of the quality of this forum, Moritz

Manfred,
From memory, both lenses are of comparable sharpness.
Super colorplan was designed to deal with the curvature of the slides not mounted
between glass and trying that way to achieve correct focusing from center to
corners.
Cheers

Vib,
The handwritten numbers inside the mount are displaying the actual exact focal of
each lens , subject to small variations lens to lens
I do not think it is a fake and anyway those lenses are so inexpensive now so its not
worth copying them
Good shots

Thank you Kamol for sharing theses pictures.
I have the same lens, and feel also puzzled by its oof areas.
They dont look like photography but rather like paint !
On your examples, i could like it though but i perceive this "look" as artificial

.
Rob,
You mean that at the factory they plan lets suppose to build a first batch of 1000
Elmars and already assign the corresponding serial numbers, even if they build them
later ?
.
So in this case, the numbers should have been attributed two years before actual
introduction of the lens in the line !
-
.
I like it too Al, it fits easily in a shirt's pocket and is light, sharp and smooth at the
same time.
Its a pity one centimeter of the vulcanite ring on mine cracked and disapeared
otherwise it
would be mint
Cheers

.
Thank you for your help.
It is such a good and small lens i will have some pictures digitalised for the forum

Thank you Albert
The numbers could match
Mine is : 191322X
Seems to be the one
-
I forgot to tell : mine is a bayonnet lens

Mister Puts in his test of the new Macro M 90mm reminds this one also but gives
1968 as introduction year !!!
The design could be derived from the Cooke triplet
What do I have
-
Bonjour a tous,
This concerns a three elements Elmar 90mm .
The original box shows the three elements depicted
Code is : 11730 U
11830 R
Front of the lens is rotating while setting the distance.
All seems fine so far but ...
This lens serial number is 191 XX XX which seems to refer to a production of1962
The famous Three elements Elmar as far as i know was supposedly introduced in
1964.
What do you specialists think ?
Merci

I will second Al Kaplan here.
Asph oof areas have something tiring for the eyes like a kind of pixellisation.
Looks to me like a kind of " no natural kind of aberration "
-
Thank you for caring Feli but no offense.
We all try to help and give information and so you did.

To my knoledge, no aspherical (1st version) was delivered with ein stuck.
But no asph (second type) is engraved aspherical !!
Even KB cameras is witing aspherical and dispays the picture of an asph lens !

Look at the current one in a shop and you will recognise the differences. (mount and shade are different)
