Thanks for your comments. Just be sure you compare the large version B&W to the Sepia version, which is posted large. Otherwise, the large sepia version looks better than the small B&W for sure. I was leaning more in favor of the B&W. But not quite certain...
-
Sepia version attached for comparison.

Best seen in the Large view. Would like opinions between this B&W version, verses the Sepia
version attached below. Thanks!

Rich green colors, beautifully exposed and outstandingly composed... a real winner here Dave.
How'd you find this place dude?
In fact, I believe you showed this spot TO ME.
How about that!
I owe you one.
: )

I hear ya Bobby. Lowballing raters have protection through anonymity. Nothing new...
Be good!

You gotta know that the entire ratings system is in the DUMPS when this image is on PAGE FIVE of the Rate Recent Average category. Pnet should be ashamed of such an embarrassment as to what has become of the ratings system today.
This image is OUTSTANDING!

Look forward to seeing some nice fall images from Shenandoah National Park from you guys. Mine are in line for scanning. Probably within the next month or so...
KW's coming to Kauai folks.
heh....
Are you gonna see Bobby D somewhere in Colorado?
-
Yep you are in my old back yard.
How the leaves look?
It's real purty this time of year...
Enjoy.

Thanks

Why is KW standing over top of us like our task masters? And why are you pointing your camera toward my SQUARE feet Walter?
Have you no sympathy?
Bobby, you should stop posting photos cause this is what usually happens to me, when you do.
-
What did you do to my right foot? I always end up losing badly with these kinds of threads.
I have square feet. Vinny Flintstone...
hmm

Thanks Tyler for taking the time to critique this. This image has turned out to be our all time best seller on any island we sell it. I guess it represents what Hawaii is all about to folks visiting here. There was a little girl playing just below what you see here. But the truth is, I would lose valuable top palms if I went down any lower than this. I took this out of its mount to get all the image that is there and scanned recently. Have not edited the new scan yet, but will soon. Thanks again.
All the best,
Vince

Justin Black said: "Why is the sky between the clouds deep peachy pink when there are cool blue reflections on the water from the BLUE sky. Also, the saturation in the reflections is over the top, and the composition isn't particularly interesting. The power of the picture is all about the color, which is fake, so what's the point?"
****My Reply:
The water is a blue-green here because that is the color of the Pacific ocean. No rocket science needed for that one. I used a Cokin 198 sunset filter on this, which was mentioned much earlier in the thread. It adds a warm color to the image. So what if I did? That's what they make filters for by the way, TOO add color when color is needed. I could have used none at all, and if you look at my portfolio, you will see I always take some images with no filters. And post many images with no filters. But this image looked better with the filter. If you don't like it, that is fine with me, I don't really care btw. Like I said above, this has been a successful image in many different applications. And I also happen to like looking at it as well.
A hui hou,
Vince

Doug Smiley said:..."These superwide shots of water, sky and rocks are easy, extremely popular, and so common that after seeing essentially the same image day after day they no longer have impact. I think many of us are having a fed-up "oh no, not another one" reaction to these pretty pictures."
***** My reply:
So what? Who cares what you think? This image was taken several years ago for one. This image has sold very well. It has also been used for stock usage by others. I even like the shot. Your opinion here is totally useless.

Hows it Bobby D? My legs are fine. What you be talkin bout? Send me one of those cold ones you must be drinking...
Actually KW does stuff like that to me all the time. And then he likes to claim he is my manager. But all he ever manages is to cut me up some way. : )
What's Bob been up to lately?

Underexposed, blurry, poor composition, no colors and very boring to look at. I've seen better photos than this from six year olds. Maybe you should take some lessons somewhere Mr. Ken. I cannot even look at this much longer without getting bored and sleepy.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but life is like this.
Oh, I forgot, And one more thing....
Just kidding.
