  1. For Zion, absolute must are Angel Landing and the Narrow River walk trails. For Bryce, Sunset , Sunrise points. I think it's safe to hike in April since people will be there. In April, It might still be cold so get some fleece for warmth, jacket of Polartec powershield or Goretex material for wind blocking. For snow driving R1 or R2 road condition, drive it slow and in low gear, keep distance, no sudden turn, brake or accelleration . Front wheels, all wheels and 4x4 are preferred. Have fun.
  2. Check for the instructors that have similar style to yours. There're many great well known instructors but only a few that have styles that will fit your style. You don't want to go to impressionist photo class while you do mostly wedding and portrait or advanced retouching in Photoshop class when you dont have a PC/MAC or the software. For novice photo class, it's almost the same, the understanding relationship of shutter, aperture and ISO speed. Hope this help.
  3. You should updated the firmware first, reformat the CF and if your CF is in great condition and still have repeated problem, it's time to send it in to Nikon service. I send my D70 in once for sensor cleaning and seems to work even better now.
  4. Okay can we all get along? ;). How'bout this:

The D80 is targeted to those more advanced, serious photographers and the D200 is targeted to more advanced serious fast pace, fast action photographers. Is everyone happy now? lastweekend, I went to Bob Krist Nikon seminar. He got two D200 body now but will get D80 for traveling light. He concerned about the compressed raw only on the D80 however since he shoot raw.

BTW, just love my D200, it just feel great in my hands.

  5. It's a well known incompatible issue but simple solution, just send it in to Sigma for the firmware update on the lens. It's just incompatible problem with different brands. Fuji S3 also has problem with 18-200mm lens and need firmware update for the camera as well.
  6. so far, I have excellent service from Nikon El Segundo, CA. Once for my D70, and even better, last week, for free cleaning of my F100 view finder ;). I just have to wait a liltle while and checking out nice pictures of the Nikon pros in the lobby.
  7. In my first answer, I didn't read carefully the question. D70s might have different chipset from D70. So firmware written for D70s unlikely will work for D70 unless it's backward compatible. Don't do this unless you have money to burn and really like to test thing.
  8. Some source I read stated that of all DSLR that includes Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Minolta, Olympus, Contax, Nikon D70 get %40 of the DSLR total sale. Nikon is alive and well. I wish D70 is compatible with AIS lenses and multiple exposures capable. But then, they don't want %80 market share of all DSLR. ;)
  9. Hello Everyone,

I have slides come back from Ritz E6 processing. The Slides from

Ektachrome E100VS and new Velvia 100F have more purple color in the

    slides.

    I don't have that purple problem with Velvia 50 (shoot @ ISO 40) ,

Provia 100F and E100SW. All of the slides were scanned with Minolta

    dualscan III.

Should I shoot the E100VS and the Velvia 100F as 80 ISO instead of

the DX default. Have anyone tried ISO 80 for those films ?

    I have a Nikon N80 and 24-85mm AFS G ED lens.

    Thanks for all the help.
