Funny you should say that about converging angles Pete. I also shot this image on black and white neg which I corrected in the printing stage by angling the head of the englarger and the base board. I made only a slight adjustment and it did make a difference. Also looked completely different in black and white. Wouldn't say better, just different.

Thanks Pete, and you're spot on mate. These computer monitors do not do this justice at all. The image is rather bizzare with a the red canadian flag and a green roof on the right hand side. Not real noticeable in this low res version.

This is my favourite shot or rather shots from my recent 3 month
trip to Canada. It is actually the result of 5 images stitched.
Many people say they like the sepia look........well its actually as
shot. No colour correction at all. If you look closely you'll
notice the red Canadian flag. It was that cold that day (-30
degrees), that everything appeared to have this look. I've had this
printed at 130cm wide, with a supergloss finish on the Durst
enlarger. Looks better than anything I've ever shot on film!!

Nice photo tassie!! Mustn't get the looks from her old man!

Nice little shorey a week back at Narrabeen. Was the best frame of
a 5 shot sequence.

Shot at a place called Shames Mountain which is a ski hill near
Terrace which is an 16 hour drive north of Vancouver. Well worth
the drive if you're ever up that way. Senational scenery and skiing.

Stopped off in Hawaii on my way back to OZ, and watched the world
number one doing what he does best. Such a shame I didn't have my
400 f2.8 with me! I'm quite happy with the result none the less.

Just pulled this one back from a previous critique. I knew it
before I uploaded it but it was way too big. Anyway as I said
before this was the result of 4 images stitched in photoshop, which
as you would imagine coming from RAW files can be very large. It is
about an 120mb image, which printed up very nicely.

We do take good pic mate! Pity we can't chase up those Eastern Creek track days now you're back up the Goldy. At least you've got 'A' grade waves now.

Looks a bit like baseball but this bloke is about to throw it
underarm!

Pretty simple shot which we have all captured many times but one
think I do like about this image is the lingering flames and exhaust
vapours.

Good to see some of your work again Dave. Sensational as always. Nice original stuff.

Been way way too busy to upload for a while. Work and all this sport
action in Sydney get in the way of everything. Just experimenting
with angles on this one. Some days I think it works and others I
don't.

Very original shot. Like it for sure, always helps with a good subject. Good use of lighting nice composition.

Glen, not a bad effort mate. I know coming from the north side myself we've seen this shot a few times but I must say I never get tired of it. The only thing I would suggest is printing on a much higher grade. The image is lacking in contrast in a big way. If you look at the whites on the post they are grey, so it needs at least 1.5 or 2 grades I'd suggest. Also I think it would look a little better in terms of composition if you cropped the a little tighter on the left. Apart from that the DOF etc is good.

Playing around with the 10D before deciding the 1D was the go. Very
happy with the results from that camera though, just a tad too slow.

I can't see anything negative about this image. Framed and composed perfectly, and I really do like how strong the sun is.

Dave, I have to say I've been a bit busy myself and really haven't had time to check out much of pn but I tell you what it is great to see some of your work again. Awesome capture.

Nice work Vincent. This really captures the feeling of the surfing lifestyle. Awesome contrasts in the sky and the silhoutte mates the image. Some of your best work yet.

I must have looked at this image 100 times and never have noticed that light, but now....I agree with your comments. It is distracting! This shot (with the light) was published in Inside Sport and even they didn't appear to realise how distracting it was! Goes to show how interesting these crituqes are. Thanks again for the constructive comments.

This is my favourite image I shot at the Planet X Summer Games in
Sydney late last year. It took about 8 rolls to capture this move
and with the smoke haze I was very lucky! I was extremely happy
with how the Provia400f held up when rated at ISO800, I have a large
print A2 size of this and it's still sharp.
Busing Air

A mate busing a bit of air down at South Narabeen. Reckon he made
it??? I have to say, yeah he did! This image is uncropped, so I'm
fairly happy I only just fit it in the frame.
