i have a 16.5" red dot artar that i had skgrimes remount in an older copal 3...i use it all the time on my 8x10...i use it for both landscapes and it doubles as a good portrait lens too if u have enough bellows...

Hi..hoping that someone has experience with a Devere 8x10 Vertical
enlarger..its has the 108 Dichromat head (8 x 250W halogens).
I recently was perhaps crazy enough to bring this beast into my
darkroom. I got it from a big print operation that had gone to
lambda's etc so they wanted the devere out of there. It was in good
condition and working fine, and I personally saw it in operation. It
was carefully disassembled and transported back to my house. It has
been re-assembled and an electrician helped me hook up a 30A 250
volt circuit for it.
Power seems to be running fine to the enlarger. blower is blowing,
hand controls are moving the motorized stages up and down the
column. But the lightsource is issuing a high pitched tone when the
focus switch is turned on. Power seems to be getting to the head as
the filtration dials are illuminated.
>From the manual i have, in the troubleshooting section, it says the
high-pitched tone indicates a lamp is blown. So i used an ohmmeter
to check each bulb and they all seem to be OK. I do have a set of
replacement bulbs, but as the current set are all looking ok on the
meter, does it make sense to swap them out? seems like something
else is going on and triggering the warning alarm?
If anyone has experience with this enlarger is there anything that i
should be looking at?
thanks

hi...i think a 210 dagor F6.8 will cover 8x10 ok when stopped down wont
it? what would be the angle of view (not coverage) for this lens on an
8x10 neg? i'm looking for a quite wide lens to go between my nikkor
SW150 (which is really wide - 106degrees field of view it think) and my
semi-wide fuji250...
thanks

Hello...i'm looking for a dagor 12" or possibly bigger for my 8x10 camera...i want to get the version that has about 87 degrees field of view...i've seen different and conflicting information that some dagors have 87 degrees field of view (series iv?) and some have 70 degrees field of view (series III maybe?)...i know both versions have big image circles that will easily cover 8x10...what should i be looking for if i'm after the wider field of view in particular..i've also read other stuff about dagors (for example, keep away from berlin versions)..anything to be aware of would be appreciated...

i'm addicted to 8x10 contacts on AZO...michael smith and paula chamlee should be arrested for dealing that stuff :-), once u try it you can't get enough of it..do the pyro neg thing too..i think i need a fix..where's my amidol?

my copy had definite printing quality issues but in defense of the content, i have been recently trying to figure out the caltar lens naming and kerry's article was very informative and relevent to the information i was looking for and i've also been recently messing with packard shutters and that article was very helpful too..

i got a nikon SW150 on ebay about 6 months back for $725...nice
lens, 400mm image circle, 106 degree field of view..before that i
had a 165 angulon (not super-angulon), which is tiny and mine
was in a compur 2 shutter which worked flawlessly...kinda
covers 8x10 but i would'nt recommend it for serious 8x10 work..it
was only $350 odd dollars however...

What exactly is the procedure they use during a hand inspection of boxes of sheet film? this summer i carried 8x10 boxes of HP5 and ektachrome from san francisco to london as carry-on and i had to put my backpack full of film boxes (mostly sealed unused but one or two boxes unselaed) thru the xray machine every time there was an carry on inspection spot...the sheets i have developed seem ok but i'm always nervous about the xray machines...what do the inspectors do exactly when u show them sealed film boxes or for that matter unsealed boxes? do u have to have you film tent with u or something?
