The 'whole negative' scan is underrated, good use.

Did you tone his jacket oh so slightly?

the broken symmetry doesn't work on this one.

Variation on a theme by Edgerton. Where's the bullet?

As a travel photo, it's below average. There's only so much criticism to give, though, because I don't know what equipment you used. Light is bad: try early morning, early evening, may be even a long night exposure (with moonlight). Given the light you've got, you're on the wrong side: the wide range of illumination causes gross contrast that cost you detail in the tower. Also would recommend a higher perspective if possible.

The apparant symmetry of the rocks is interesting, as is the cold color tone.

Great contrast of color and stone. Consider removing the contrail in the lower left. Shadows of arm and nozzle are distracting.

Good job getting the blue sky and the orange bridge. Would prefer to see photos here without borders.

I like the composure. It's as though you are at eye level, but, then, you're not.

Maybe cut of the rightmost 1/8th, but phenomenal.

I met an artist's wife in Cartegna, Columbia who did just that. They and their five-year old traveled the world, she sold his copious watercolors on the street to finance the venture. Not a stand on the corner mind you, she walked up to people in the many outdoor cafe seating areas. Even in a third world country she could charge $20 for a postcard sized watercolor.
The purple is a bit overwhelming.

Great DOF. Great light, how'd you get it? I assume the background glare is from reflection, leaving the sun to camera left?

You can call the harbor master for ship schedules if you want to take a shot with no ships.
