<p>Maybe he used this outfit and Sunny-f16, practically focus-free: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/ultrawides/21mm.htm</p>

<p>i typically shoot portra 800, and do not want to stop down to 5.6 or 8.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Then use slower film or an ND filter.</p>
-
<p>Just get another Kiev body for the lens.</p>
-
<p>It never amazes me how angle of view is confused with focal length.</p>

<blockquote>
<p>The F5 could be fitted with a flip-up Ai tab by Nikon.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>The tab is native to the F4, making it the last film model which doesn't need modification to take pre-Ai lenses .</p>

<p>Looks like a sticky shutter.</p>

<p>That takes care of the "in particular" part. You might have said this earlier instead of suggesting that the manual is easy to locate. </p>
</blockquote>
<p>Sorry professor (or are you a self-professed psychic?) I didn't even use the word "manual", let alone suggesting it in any way, shape or form.</p><p>In case my second post is still not obvious enough: it's laughable that unless some people can find things on the internet (especially when there's no corresponding pdf), they can't figure them out by themselves.</p>
-
<blockquote>
<p>I shall request you to help J. Wong by finding a place from which a PDF manual may be downloaded. Should be easy, for the reasons you set out.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>The answer to the OP's question is indeed easy, even obvious, if you guys only bother to think about it and look at the basic hotshoe (instead of insisting on me providing a pdf), you can see that there is no provision for TTL or any other type of flash control from the camera.</p>

<p>It's a problem isn't it as Zeiss Ikon is the designation of so many Zeiss cameras over more than 50 years</p>
</blockquote>
<p>There are only two cameras with the ZM mount, and both are the same except for the VF/RF.</p>

<p>The 430EX allows power settings from 1/1 to 1/64 in 1-stop increments, not just full power. Of course you still need to calculate the aperture depending on effective GN and distance.</p>
-
>For portraits, the longer the focal length, the better the picture.
... only if you want to flatten as much as possible every single feature from head to toe.
-
What mount is the J-9? I have the M42 version which is a pre-set lens with TWO rings to adjust aperture.
Those Jupiter/Helios for rangefinders are straight copies of pre-war Zeiss lenses. Consequently they are all based on the Zeiss RF cam instead of Leica's. 50/2 and shorter/slower L39 Soviet lenses work fine on Leicas because they have more DOF, but not those longer or faster i.e. the L39 J-9, etc: http://www.dantestella.com/technical/compat.html

>Would it serve as an adapter between my Sunpak or Vivitar 285., With this adapter in place does the
camera trigger the hot shoe flash?
If you had looked up the safe sync, you would have known that both answers are "yes."
>How is the lighting adjusted?
The same way as with the F1.

The Angle Finder C is (what else?) a right-angle finder, not meant to be used at waist-level.
Save up or buy 2nd hand. I doubt you're looking for ground glass, laterally-reversed focusing and framing in
the style of TLRs.
-
Bob, you answer is exactly like those that turned up in my previous search. I am looking for a <i>modern equivalent</i> and can't just try the batteries on for size at the store. <P>
-
I'm looking for the exact model/size for a modern battery to test an SP II
before selling and am not gonna get an adapter.
Sorry if you've seen this question before. I did a search and people just keep
saying 1.5 V silver oxide/hearing aid/alkaline or whatever is fine, which is
not that specific.
Thanks in advance!

>Assuming that I am totally unsatisfied with my Canon setup. I want to switch over to Nikon and money is no object.
4 hours before this post, you were adapting Nikkors to digital EOS: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00OKhB
In case you haven't noticed, Nikon does have a website with all their current (and non-current) lenses. Go look up the "fastest possibles."
And if money is no object, just put down a hefty deposit for the D3. Your dealer will make sure you'd be get the first camera available.

Thanks guys! Keep 'em coming!
I have used UPS Expedited with B&H and they only collected GST/PST. In line with Michael's post, it seems, but contradicts what Ian said.
Never bought from Adorama, hence the question. If they had UPS Expedited, I'd have gone with that.
-
When you had Adorama ship to Canada, what method did you choose? They have
FedEx International Economy, FedEx International Priority and UPS Worldwide
Express.
Did you have to pay for any brokerage fee or charges besides GST/PST?
Thanks in advance!

I don't think any cross-brand adapters give you full-aperture metering. But then it's not a requirement in the OP's question.
-
>unless its either the 85mm or 15mm
M-mount lenses, no go on F mount.
If you insist on German lenses, get a Hassey-to-F adapter or an optical adapter for Zeiss Jena M42.
-
>how bout the Summicron 75mm/2.0 instead of the 75mm/1.4? save some smack...
Just tell us where to get the 75/2 for less than 200K yen or US$1880.
-
Thanks pal!
The problem is, I haven't bought the grip yet. Even the Rezo 180 is too big for my taste -- I got the Slingshot 200 and would like something smaller when I need to pack light.
-
I like the size of the Lowepro Rezo 170. Can it accomodate this setup?
Thanks in advance!

<p>So you're looking for "<strong>cheap & sharp</strong>". <br /> Well, you're not going to fill those two requirements together unless you tap the speed down a bit (f/2 to f/2.8).<br /> Without a doubt, that order can be filled with a Contax C/Y 85mm f/2.8 Sonnar.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>At today's price levels, you cannot get a decent sample of of the Sonnar for a mere $250 -- unless a good friend or relative is willing to sell that low.</p>
