Pretty much straight from the camera (except for frame/mat, of
course). Any comments welcome! Thanks

Great Shot! When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it was a picture of fireworks. Could be nature's fireworks, I suppose. Excellent work.

Vibhav,
Thanks for the comments. Actually, I learned that little trick here on photo.net at the following site:

Worked like a charm. Good luck!

This shot was taken in the early morning fog in Sitka, Alaska. I
brought out the contrast a bit, and adjusted the saturation. My main
question is this: is the saturation over the top? My color vision is
not so hot (how many of us have that red-green color blindness so
common to men). Thoughts?

Despite what "purists" may think, I believe composites ARE photographs. They require thought, purpose and planning, just like any other good photograph. I do believe, however, that if the composite is not obvious as a composite, it should be labeled as such. Not a problem with yours. though.
I like where you are going with this image. One suggestion, though... on the left signpost, the water should be crashing into the back of it, creating a small area of white foam surf. You should be able to copy this from another area of the picture. It's subtle, but the fact that it is missing bothers me a bit. Don't know why.

Unaltered. It was a beautiful day!

I live in a postcard. This is the view from my office parking lot.
Thoughts? Thanks!

This image is actually a combination of five different raptors. It's
much easier to see them in the LARGE view.

Comments very welcome

Thanks. Yeah, I agree it could be lighter. But I am having monitor calibration troubles myself. New monitor, and I don't seem to have it quite figured out. I do not know if photo.net has a calibration utility, but it would sure be handy!

Shot on Christmas Day on the muskegs outside of Sitka, AK. Very
little manipulation (levels, saturday, text and the borders).

Originally I posted this image with a too-busy border. Everyone agreed
I should dump the border. I agree! I am reposting to see if this one
is more effective. Thanks for your insights

Ah, those grand plans. My original concept was to demonstrate the relationship of clearcut forrestry to postcards and the local lumber store. Seems like I did not convey that message well. Perhaps the image speaks the same message without the heavy-handed commentary. Thanks for the comments. I will repost without the border.

Retouched to bring out the glow in the water. This is one of millions
of waterfalls in SE Alaska. If you get the chance to visit, you will
never regret it!

I have looked over your portfolio, and I enjoy your work. Crisp and interesting images. You are obviously an accomplished photographer. However, you do seem to be passionately involved with the color blue. An occasional fling with green or orange might be fun.

This picture was taken in Haines, Alaska in the summer of 2002.

Michele,
It was a Tokina AF80-400mm. It's not a great lens, but it is what I could afford. It picks up great color, but it has no image stabilization. Fortunately, this eagle was in a short tree about thirty feet from my camera.
