I have found another light that is much cheaper and can fit the needs.
http://www.botac.com/stnicomfl.html
They both belong into Tactical Light category, meaning primary white light is strong enough
to scare, even temporarely blind human and animal, giving you "tactical" advantage.
Importatn for us who shoot with Canons and Nicons rather then Smith and Wessons.

As everyone else, at least once in their time, i have this little problem: What flashlight to use when
photographing in the middle of the night. After some trials and errors, eliminating those flashlights that
would be more then my EF-L lenses, i have concluded that SureFire A2 Aviator is great little light for when
i need to see where am i going, and once i get there, to set my camera. Any other suggestions?

Since i9900 is great printer for colors, with (well, then) new red and green ink, i wonder does anyone have
any alternative in black ink that would be usefull for b/w printing

ok i have to ask why? would you ever want a film camera that can take 35mm and 120 roll
in the same body. i dont get the benefits.
20MPix hmmm, i love the idea, so my PowerBook will become obsolite, and DVD burner
will become a true toaster, now where do i get firewire 1600 ports?
-
i would say digital. If you go with film you will come to situation where you have all your
ditial images from main camera ready, but then you need to develop, scan, clean, etc from
your film just to complete the story. And small but important detail, size of digital is not
the same as size of print, so you might get some crop on the side. I wouldnt worry about
backup camera, i have DRebel, now if it fails, well, i will just put it back in case and go
have a coffee, no big deal.

True Nick, i am confused myself now. Seems like none of my images was so powerful to
make someone hate it so much, eventually giving it 1/1. Now everyone is going aroumd
ok, fine, sure, good one, when they rate. If i didnt make anyone think with my photo, i am
going to seed cucumbers for hobby from now on.

all my anonimous 1s and 2s just dissapeared? anyone else with same

on, why would you keep it off? do you take tires off the car when you park?

go to school meeting or local city/town meeting and request to add more lighting to the
stadium, for them half a million project, nothing serious. Then you can have fun with
sports action in the day. I dont see any other solution.

>>.know very little about digital photography
well if you want to start a small business taking pictures and selling them, you need to
concider two more purchases, Computer (Mac G5?), and Adobe CS. Have you included that
in the calculation?
just remember kids are speedy, so get fastest lens you can. Flash or studio lights arent
bad idea at all. Good luck.

ok you must be kidding me?
1. The Power Switch placement.
i turned my on 6 months ago and i dont even remember where the switch is. Who cares it
goes to sleep in 5 min anyway. But seems like button is even bigger then on my
PowerBook.
2. The extremely small buttons, it seems so confusing and it's not at all intutitive to me
(both the 20D and the 1 series design).
what do you mean by small? it is not emergency button on your car that needs to be big
and bright red with flashing ! as you drive.
3. Painting the flash shoe black. ( It just takes a few flash mountings to make the paint on
the shoe chip. Why not leave the shoe without the black paint as Nikon does. Doesn't it
seem more logical?
ok get silver DRebel, problem solved.
4. Nikon's excellent idea of providing a LCD protector. How much more cost can it incur?
Amazing idea, now can they also get creative with camera names? D1, 1D, wow that one
should get award.
5. Why make the lens hood so scratch prone? Even on L lenses. Why not design it better
with the same finish as the lens.
Ok how do you scratch the lens hood? outside is plastic, inside is that scratch prone stuff.
So unless you want to take a close up of less then 3 inches you have no problem.
6. The lens cap. Nikon, Tokina and I guess Tamrons' lens cap design is so much more
useful especially when taking and putting lens caps with the hood on.
Cannot answer this one, i loose my cap within week or so.
What amazes me with Nikon is red triangle at handle? wow, what a design, I will just throw
my apple away and look on ebay for laptop with red rubber, something.
oh never mind now i know what that red triangle reminds me.

anyone? orange maybe?

It is almost unwriten role to remove ads, popups etc, from the site (even software, think
Eudora) once user sign up and pay. However this is not a case with Photo.net, and i trully
dont understand why. I have 12 inch powerbook, and if someone just kindly remove the
top google ads i will actually be able to see the image and enjoy it, instead of scroling up
and down trying to get mental image of two parts. If i understand correctly google pays
per clicks not per view, so i will even promise that i will not click them anyhow, so you will
not lose any money from me.
I have 20 some pictures on this site, and the only reason i paid is to support this great
site. now i am asking others, Will you like to see one of the paid benefits no somewhat
related google ads?

i cannot wait to save the earth, let me sit in my oversized SUV, burn 10 gallons of gas to
get to the location, then take few pictures with my earth friendly Canon 1.2 GPix camera,
without worring where to dispose batteries in this pristine nature, ok i am done, let me
now drive around let me see this 8 cilinder baby going off-road.
pointless. If someone have problem with disposing batteries for pro-SLR's i bet you if you
get all few thousand sold around the world, you can stuck them in one standard size
container. If you want to save the earth and my nerves, please do not put them in the
oversized blister pack that is 10 times bigger then the battery itself.

Looking for a Pelican case to protect, at least to attempt to, my camera and lenses, i found
out that there are so many models and dimmensions. Ok i know i want it orange, now i
need your help.
what size will you get, or you have, for my DRebel, 17-40L, 50 1.8, 75-300IS, and with
some space for charger, flash, another L soon etc?

we, meaning Me, Myself and I dont have a problem with religious symbols. However, i have
noticed that people who post such, expect high ratings just on the basis of having
"untouchable" subject. Does every image of American flag has to get 7/7, and if it doesnt
are people who dare to give lower rating, anti-american. I dont think so. I personally dont
like picture. With or without cross i would not rate it higher. Now when you warn me about
it, i will not rate it at all.

As it was case with first DRebel, price will probably go up around x-mass time, since it
makes nice gift. Now what i am confused about is why 20D is not becoming cheaper.
Another related question. 5D is around 3300, while 1Dm2 N is 3800. I cannot belive that
there is so many people who belive that 1D is not worth that additional $500. Ok sure you
get couple Mpix less but you get build and features of 1D. i just dont get it.
My cameras usuallly depreciate faster then mentioned due to constant use and abuse, so i
really cannot answer original question. But they do more depreciate then lens would.

i have some 7/7 that need revision, so i guess they would be removed so will my ego and
its desire to post more. Seems funny, when you get high scores they get removed, low
ones, who cares. To avoid this in future, i say remove all the anonimous ratings.

Yaron,
> The 600/4 for candid portrait photography. If you're shy, the 1200/5.6.
12 lbs lens for candid portrait? how do you actually hide with that monster. I had troubles
with people and 17-40L with hood, not to mention 18 inch white monster.
for me, i dont do portrait as much as i would do people in their surrounding, so i will say
17-40L

Are you sure you are using digital rebel, not film one? sounds like the problem from the
"35mm age", have no clue, CF doesnt rewind fast?
-
just an idea here, from DRebel to PowerBook using USB then from PBook to iPod via
firewire. Hmmm have to try that one when i get borred.
Nice homes
