Thanks Alexandre,
Perhaps you didn't understand the question. I think everyone and their uncle knows that a lens will perform better on a DSLR than a 35mm and the reason why. This is not the "issue", it was just a precision so that people who have used THIS lens on THIS body can answer.
My question relates specifically to the Tamron 19-35mm lens. I often use the very detailed reviews on Photozone to answer such questions, but there is no mention of the Tamron. Nor is there very specific mention of this lens/camera combination in the archives. However, most third party lenses perform VERY badly in this range, particularly when it comes to vignetting and distortion (sharpness is not mentioned). So what I want to know is given the cropping factor of the DSLRs, how bad is the Distrtion, Sharpness and Vignetting (in that order).
Thanks,

I'm having trouble finding reviews of the A Tamron 19-35mm f3.5-
4.5,particularly on a DSLR. Is this the same lens as the Tokina? The
specs seem awfull similar. This would be just a temporary fix until
I can afford the 17-40mm F4L. I'm concerned about distiorion the
most, then sharpness. But remember, it's for a 10D.
Any reviews, comparissons or comments would be appreciated.

Yes this is a scam and at a price of $1600 for a 1Ds, not even a good one. A few weeks back I waslooking at a Fuji S2pro that was bargain cheap. Sometimes you fall on a person who doesn't have a clue, but not in this case.
First they hack into someone's profile and then post a private auction for pre-aproved bidders. then when you E-mail them to ask to be approved they tell you they have several of them ...blah, blah blah. they ask you to Western Union the cash to some obscure address in Spain and they will even pay the shipping. the first clue this is a scam is the price, the second is the history of the seller. In my case the seller had over 100 positive feedbacks, but by selling needlepoints, quilts and other garage sale junk. What does a person like that know about Digital SLRs.
This one is getting so obvious that someone even wrote a booklet about it and was selling THAT on Ebay.
I can't believe that Ebay hasn't found a way to stop this from going on.
Just ask them more and more annoying any complicated questions to give them a hard tme and distract them from posting more scams. I did that for a while and had a real hoot doing it.
A 1Ds costs what it costs.

I use the orientation sensor on my 10D. PS 7 recognises this and
rotates the pics, however I also like to use ACDSee and it doesn't.
Anyone have experience with ACDSee and the 10D?
Thanks,

Thanks guys for the quick response. I know it might have seemed like an insecure/obvious question, but after spending a ton of cash on a 10D, 550EX and CP-E2, I am not willing to take any chances.
Canon did get back to me confirming that it's no problem.
Thanks again.

Hi everyone, I just bought a CP-E2 battery pack to power my 550EX.
The instructions make mantion of Alkaline, NiCD, and lithium
batteries, but not NiMH. Is this because the instructions were
written before NiMH batteries, or is there some kind of danger in
using them.
I have over 40 NiMH batteries that I'd like to use but don't want to
damage the pack or my flash. I WILL ask Canon, but I'd expect that
the answer will not be very quick. I need to know soon.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm looking for a Canon EF zoom that will have the IR focusing
markings. It needs to have a 58mm or 62mm filter thread and the
wider it goes the better (also the cheaper the better).
I'm new to Canon and there seems to have been so many EF zooms over
the years that I have no idea where to start. Anyone know which
models fit this description?
Thanks
Is the difference between the Sigma 17-35mm & the Canon 17-35mm all in your head?

I recently discovered the photodo website and was very pleased to
see tests made on lenses with quantative results. They also seem to
be the most thorough tests I've ever seen.
I was then comparing the results of the Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 to
those of Canon's 17-35mm f2.8L. The data seems to indicate that they
are almost perfectly evenly matched. I assume that the build quality
of the Canon is much superior, but otherwise what's wrong with the
Sigma? Is the extra cost of the L glass really worth it if it's not
going to be used in a war zone?
