I would like to ask for suggested development times for processing Tri-X (EI 400) in D-76 1+3. The idea is to get the 'edge effect' gained with the use of highly diluted developers.

Any other suggestions related to this matter would be appreciated.

thanks,

I've heard about using high developer dilutions and its resulting 'edge effect' how does this work?

Folks,

Has anybody any experience with Kodak Panchromatic film rated at EI 400 - 3200? It's cheap and I was hoping it could substitute for TMax.
The box says it can be exposed anywhere form EI 100 to EI 3200. Any advice on processing and exposure?

thanks,

I read from somewhere that if your film gets stuck midroll while
feeding to a reel, chances are your reel is not quite dry so the film
sticks to the reel. Then the article suggested dunking the reel (with
the film) into a bucket of water and continue winding. There was a
time when the film i was winding stuck and won't go in. I tried the
suggestion. It worked! Of course do the dunking in complete
darkness.

If the contrast is not too great, and i'm using negative film,i would
want to make sure that i have shadow detail so i would meter off the
shadow areas of the face. unless of course i want a full silhouette,
in which case i will measure off the highlights of the face or
backgrond. If contrast is substantial, i'll measure off both the
highlights and shadows and get the average measurement.

Try reading the reviews at www.photographyreview.com. All the majors
are evaluated there. Good luck.

Hi, purchased a used Gossen Lunapro SBC. It seems to be in fine shape. Now if I can only find a downloadable instruction manual, I might be able to maximize its use. Anyone who can help? Thanks.

I usually wipe off drying marks on my dry HP5 negatives with fine
microfiber cloth. Not sure if Agfapan 25 is too delicate for this.
Anyway, try it on one not too important frame.
