I'm starting to play with new (to me) technique for conversion to
B&W.
The shot is of a friend at a 50th birthday party.

A new orchid showed up in front of the bay window this afternoon.

Beautiful shot. 6/6

While looking over some apple branches I'm trying to get to bloom
this morning, I discoverd a hidden Hibiscus blossom that came up in
the wee small hours. Comments are always welcome.

A friend who seems to show up a lot of the times I'm shooting
someplace. Can't help but shoot that expressive face a lot.
Comments are always welcome.

Caught a friend blowing bubbles in the morning hours during a weekend
long party.

Yet another lilly at the Como conservatory

Shot @ mid morning on a mildly overcast day in the Como Conseratory

A pair of roses I shot one night when I had the lights set up.

Not much to say. I had been playing with the lights one evening so I
decided to try and learn a bit about shooting glass.

Wonderful shot.

I'm having trouble understanding what this is a picture of. It seems very busy with no primary object.

Comments welcome.

Thank you Nicholas. It was just one of those moments - I had originaly framed this shot with a "normal" camera, much closer to the building. The composition felt more interesting from a distance with the panoramic shot though.

I agree with the comment above wrt the overhang. Not that it's bad, but it could be improved. I like the look you've given this, and other than the overhang I do like the composition. It draws you in.
Nice.

I really like this shot. I have to agree with other posters in that it conveys a sense of isolation for this woman and her child to be. The lighting, grain, tone ... all of it add up to making a pretty powerful image for me.

Too slow a shutter speed to match the DOF (0.5 - 1 CM), but my hands
seemed to be shaking at the same rate as the plant. Another cup of
coffee and this shot wouldn't have happened.

Taken indoors at the zoo. Light was filtered sunlight through
translucent skylights, managed by a small Wescott handheld reflector.
Taken from a focusing rail.

I think that this might have been better with a bit less contrast and if the highlights on the outside of his left hand weren't blown out.
Small technical nits. I love the depth in this shot. It made me smile - thanks.
