Could it be a vip dealer model ?
-
Adorama has the set for $900 now . If it was only useful , it would be quite a deal . And now I must get back to looking for a konica hexar af .
-
Jason , can you please elaborate on this experiment of yours ?
Was the film in a camera body ? Are you sure that there were no
light leaks ? Did you try this with another lens ?
-
I was wondering if anybody has any experience with a komura 35mm/2.8 ( screwmount ) lens ? thanks
-
I am proud to say that I am one of the few people on earth who uses a
graflex xlsw ( with pistol grip and sport finder ! ) . If I could
afford it , I would get the plaubel makina pro shift as a
replacement .
-
Here is a link listing a lot( if not all ) of pro labs in ny . I
personally have had good experiences with carol color .
-
Keep in mind that the camera goes for 150 - 200 dollars (
especially the ones with a torn leatherette , which is easy to fix ) .
It might be worthwhile to just pick up another body on ebay .
-
I use a watson loader for bulk tri-x . It's pretty flimsy , but
nonetheless light tight . Loading bulk film into the watson takes
about one minute in the dark . Dispensing film into a cassette takes
about two minutes . Knock on wood no light leaks or scratches yet (
gone through 300ft ).
-
That doesn't sound like an even trade . Why didn't you just sell
your kit on ebay ? It's pretty hard to get a good deal with a store
trade in .
-
Why do you want to get a leica ? The camera you have is great and it
would certainly be cheaper to just buy a 35mm lens for it . If you
really want a change , try a 4 x 5 graflex camera . It'll slow you
down , be really cheap and will give a tremendous increase in
photographic quality ( and with the money left over , you can buy a
good film scanner and some books ).
-
Oops , I thought you were talking about the m6 . By the way ,Vikram
brings up a good point , why do you want an m7 ( as opposed to an
m6 ,m4,m3,m2,m5 ) ?
-
Wouldn't it make sense to simply rent the camera first , that way you
will know first hand . If anything , getting used to film loading or
framing should be your major problem ( at first ). Some people adapt
quickly , while others are never able to . It all depends on you
really .

Hove books has a collection of manuals ( flex,sl,sl2 and m5 ) for
about $10 . B+H stocks them .

" Oh no, I find all that electronics interfering with the creative
process of taking a photograph "
<p>
What is that supposed to mean ? Autofocus, a durable body and
a good built in meter suck away your creativity ? Are you even
familiar with this camera and it's uses ?
-
Kodak's tech pan ( iso 25 ) has very nice contrast . It's pretty
expensive ( at least $7) though .
-
No auto-focus , no autoexposure , slow ( at night, the f/2 version is
at least $700 ) . Unless I am shooting something that is
motionless , having to meter by hand , transfer it to the camera ,
and then focus isn't always convenient ( and I would like a high
eyepoint finder ). I am finding that as I stick my nose into more and
more dangerous/dark spots , an autofocus, autoexposure camera may be
the thing for me . As much as I love the camera , I 'll probably sell
it and get a f100 and 35/2 . But that's just me , so please don't
take offense at anything that I've said .
-
Just develop them at the same time .
-
Can you post an example of each ? When you get flat negatives , it
would seem more likely that it is a chemical problem . Maybe there
was a timing error in development ?
-
check out alfie wang's contax question below .
-
Just type noctilux in a google image search , and you'll get lot's
of f/1 examples .
-
A while back there was one on ebay . The seller was asking
about $1200 , but no one bid .
-
How about selling all of your photo stuff and getting a 4 x 5
camera . It will slow you down , and force you to think about
every shot take .
-
Just saw the other angles . This one is the best ( light is too harsh
in the other ones ) . If I had to use one word to describe this
picture , it would have to be delicate .
-
It's a well exposed and composed photo . The eyes are delicate and
beautiful . What other angles did you shoot from ?
The M4-2 finally lives up to it's 'reputation'.
