1. They call it the 'rigid', it's produced in 1956-1968 and it has 2 variants. The first can

focuss up to 1 meter and the second, up to 48cm or 51cm (later units). The short

focussing models require a special viewfinder called "glasses" or "eyes" that is placed over

on the camera, these models sometimes are also known as Dual Range. I don't find the

catch in your pix that holds these glasses so I guess your's is not a DR lens.

I used to own one of these DR lenses.

  2. <...I don't think that glow is exclusive to Leica, it is more due to lighting, exsposure, and

the properties of aspherical aborrations in certain lenses....>

This is definitely caused by aspherical aborration, you tell me if it constitutes to a 'glow'

    shot?

  3. My experience with Diafine has been great and consistent. I use TRI-x almost exclusively and I find Diafine to be the best developer for my street work. Recently I shot some TXP 320 220 films and I think Diafine works even better with these older emulsions.

I haven't found any thread mentioned the use of Diafine with Kodak' HIE (Infrared film) so I souped a roll in it recently and found rating it between 400 to 800 is just about right. But I hate one thing, the neg is way too thin and it curls too much. I need to use a glass carrier to hold the film flat inorder to print them. Still, printing tri-x film developed with Diafine is best done with a diffuser at grade 2 on ilford papers.

  4. How fast does it handle? How is the lag?
...the shutter lag is almost unnoticeable, especially in MF mode...I didn't miss alot of critical moments. In fact, I find its lag is as small as my Olympus 5060 (touted to have the shortest lag).

... by the way, I was told this D2 was used by David Alan Harvey before it reached me... hmm....
