Guys, I need your help:
1) My recently bought GX has a focusing screen with Central Split-Image Wedge,
Microprism Ring and gridlines, which I do not really like. It constantly
confuses me, while shooting.
I got used to focusing with a plain screen without any additional features and
advancements. Can you suggest on which type of screen I should buy? Certainly
I want it bright, or even superbright...) Does Rollei have one?
2) I am also looking to buy 45 degree prism. 90 degree is really awkward to
use. Can you share your experience with using 45 degree prism? It looks
lighter and smaller then 90 and sounds like more convenient to use.
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
Alexander

Joe, as I understand the build-in-meter will not work in this case? Is it a better option then to buy Rollei 45 degree prismfinder and why?
thank you very much in advance.

I guess a lot of people just misunderstand the main concept: Leica is just an instrument to make pictures, nothing else.

I use Contax 645 for more then 3 years. It's just wonderful camera with great lenses!
Here some examples:

I shoot with Contax 645 AF with 80/2 and 45/2.8. Have a look at pictures on my web-site:
P.S. Also I have recently purchased 55/3.5 and 140/2.8, which will be delivered to me soon.

I own Contax 645 AF with 45/2.8 and 80/2. Recently I have additionally invested into 55/3.5 and 140/2.8. The system is great, especially for landscape work. You can see examples at my web page.

Collegues,
What are the reliable stores that sell used digital backs for medium
format cameras? I am considering to buy used Kodak DSC Pro Back or
Phase One P20/P25.
thanks & regards,

"Fourth, by f/16 or f/22 your lens (again, if properly designed and manufactured) will return diffraction limited results (90 l/mm at f16 and 60 l/mm at f/22)."

Christopher, I thought, that maximim sharpness for the majority of Contax lenses are af f/16 and perhaps f/22 for 120/4, which represent exactly the midpoint for aperture range. And f/11 is a midpoint for 35 mm lenses. Am I right?

Dear coleagues, thank you very much for your support and detailed suggestions.
I wonder why Kodak E200 at 320 is push+1? My experince was setting it at 400 ICO and developed push +1. Here is an example: http://www.krasotkin.com/portfolio/?photo=153&lang=2
I will stick to Kodak E100G & 200 combo, Velvia 50 (I wonder why no one mentioned about Kodak 100VS?)and perhaps some rolls of Provia 400F.
Thank you very much again!

Colleagues,
I am wondering what slidefilm will be the best for travelling (Asia:
Nepal, Tibet, China) especially as the exposure latitude is
concerned. My equipment is Contax 645 with a few lenses and 2 backs.
My scanner is Nikon Coolscan 8000ED.
From my personal experience, I have found out that Kodak Ektachrome
E200 is the one that is not so bad.
I know that exposure latitude for slidefilm is very narrow to
compare with negative, but would like to hear your suggestions?
Thank you very much in advance,
Alexander

Gary, thank you very much for your detailed comment. I really did not want to offend anyone, but by picture itself, I was meaning "character of the lens". I truly belive that this is a very nice lens, which will fit to my setup.

Colleagues,
I am looking to buy 140/2.8 lens for my Contax 645. At present I
have 45/2.8, 55/3.5 (just about to get), 80/2. I am very happy with
this setup. However I want a portrait lens for my Contax. What is
your impression about this lens? Appreciate if you can share some
images made by it. As I understand from the reports, focusing is ok
and boke is really nice, although nothing really outstanding as far
as the picture itself is concerned.
Thank you very much in advance.

Guys,
I am just about to purchase 55/3.5 to fill the gap between 45/2.8
abd 80/2. The initial plan was to go for 35/3.5, but after analysing
my photo archive, I have found out that very rarely use superwide
angle, so I have decided to get 55/3.5. What is your opinion re
sharpness, resolution, bokeh and focusing speed? Does it give a
different picture then 80/2? From what I have read on the web, this
lens is highly regarded by users.
thank you very much in advance.

Lisa, go for 140/2.8. Great lens, light enough and focuses very fast. I had one, but sold to finance Leica equipment and regret now. If I have a chance would buy it back.
Here are examples from shooting in Israel with this lens:
