Fuji Pro-H (NPH) and Fuji Neopan 400CN for the B/W shots. I've also gotten very nice results with Kodak's newer Portra line of films.

I agree with Nadine. I have and use the regular & Jumbo sized "Flip-It's" and they work great. I highly recommend them. Yes, the hinge is very sturdy, and should last for a very long time.

When I did El Cap, Half Dome & Sentinel walls in Yosemite, I just hauled along a quality P&S (Ricoh) with a good sharp fixed lens. On short climbs, I sometimes used the FM with a fixed 28mm or short zoom. For non technical mountaineering, I think you'd be fine with a manual SLR and short to medium, quality zoom.

I was kind of amazed that the Worobiecs went onto most of the properties they photographed and into the houses as well. I supposed if they are truly abandoned and not locked, there's no harm. Still, it seems a promising way to get shot, and borderline unethical. Anyone have thoughts on that?"

I do the same thing. In most cases, you are the first visitor in years, and most of them aren't fenced off or posted as private property. You can usually stay and shoot to your hearts content.

Actually, the E Series 70-150, and a few others, were made by Kiron (Kino Precision Industries) for Nikon. It's a very good performer. However, the Kiron and Vivitar branded versions don't develop the dreaded zoom creep that the Nikon E 70-150 is known for, and are a bit smaller and more compact.

I get very good results, burning Fuji Pro-Z @ 640.

I have the first edition of this lens (has been AI'd). I love it. I'd never part with it. It's worth the trouble.

In slide format, I'd go with Velvia or Kodak 100VS. However, the color negative Kodak 400UC film is also quite vivid in colors, and not bad on flesh tones.

I burn quite a lot of Fuji NPH (Pro-H). I expose it @ 320, and get wonderful, very fine grained 8x10 prints. It's a very good film.

I agree with Nadine. It's really not necessary for outdoor fill-flash. However, when shooting in the vertical mode, be sure to have the camera oriented so that the fill-light is coming from the oppsite direction of the main light.

The Stroboframe "camera-flip" model, is very well made. Also, when you flip the camera into the vertical orientation, the shutter button is on the top. Much easier and user friendly than the "FLASH-flip." I've had mine for quite some time now and shot numerous weddings with it, and it's showing no signs of wearing out. I also have the Jumbo Demp Diffuser, and really like it.

How do you like your Demb flip-diffuser model? I recently acquired one, but haven't had a chance to try it out. Do you prefer to use the diffusion panels? Do they make a discernible difference?
Thanks

I use Everready Lithiums. They don't leak, and recycle very quickly in my SB-600 & 800.

I have and use the Kiron 24mm f/2 lens, and it delivers very nice results. We have lens test results on it in the Kiron Klub files. Kiron also made an excellent 28mm f/2 lens. And my Kiron 21mm is no slouch either.

We are quite pleased with ProShow Gold.

My wedding work is mainly PJ style, and I use my 28-90 or 28-105 (film cameras), for the bulk of my candids.

I can't speak from experience, but I've heard many unfavorable reviews on the Nikon 28-100 G lens. On the other hand, I'm, quite satisfied with my Nikon 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 D lens.

I agree with Dave. My 28-90, handles about 95% of my shooting needs.

My main wedding lens is a high quality 28-90 zoom, and I use the 28mm setting, a lot! I sometimes will slap on my 24mm lens. No, it's not too wide. A very useful length.

That just happened to me a couple about one week ago. No time to meet, or take deposit. I was "slightly" concerned, but showed up, and did the shoot. The groom, then pulled me aside, and payed me in cash. On the spot. I basically just went by gut feeling, and all worked out well. They were very friendly, and it was an easy and enjoyable shoot.

I second, Lex's excellent advice...
