  1. I believe Rob is way off base. The build quality of the Sigma EX series is awesome, as is its performance. I would recomend the Sigma 17-35 EX and the 80-200 EX.I have both and the performance is great. I had a couple Tamrons, and they lacked quality, and the zoom was tight, and one of them never did focus good, always a little soft? Off the question, but I believe the Tamron 90 macro, Paul mentioned, is over priced, by about $200. You can get an excellent last generation Sigma 90mm AF 2.8 for around $150. Good luck!
  2. I use www.nikonnet.com, you register for free, upload images to albums or folders, select prints in a variety of sizes, crop or no crop, etc... and receive them in 3 or 4 days. Prices are actually slightly cheaper than my local pro lab, even with shipping costs, which are minimal. Also, you can email family and friends a password to certain albums/folders to view. And you don't have to have Nikon equipment, they could care less.
  3. hi minh,

you may need to consider the focal factor of the d70 and lens, on my d1h, it is x1.5, so a 24-120 acts like a 36-180.in some wedding shots, you will probably need more wide angle, so you may want to get an even more wide angle lens, such as one of the latest lens made especially for digital cameras. good luck, and enjoy.

  4. Jim,

Not mentioned here is the Sigma 90mm 2.8af,the generation before this current line of lenses. You can get it for around $90-$150 US dollars, and it is tack sharp, all the way to the edges. Team this lens with an extension tube, and it is an awesome setup, easy to handle, with professional results.

Check some photo shops, I found one new, but old stock, for $100.

    Good luck...

  5. Rudy,

I have bought many new and used lenses on ebay, with no trouble at all, including a Nikon 24-120D, 24-50D, the great Sigma 90 2.8, and a new Sigma 120-300 2.8, all awesome, and still working fine.

I have also bought a used F5,F100, and just bought a used D1H from a camera shop on ebay, and it is awesome.

I believe if you do your homework, look at hundreds of auctions, and compare, you will start to see the rip offs, and spot the good deals.

    Good luck, be careful.

  6. Charlie,

I just got a D1H off Ebay, and it is awesome. It is only 12 months old, all factory accesories, upgraded firmware (ver. 1.1), and has a warranty, for $1800.

The D1H is better with color, and flash, than the D1.

Also the D1H uses its monitor to adjust settings, in a scroll type menu base, the D1 you can only set all settings with the LCD, which could be a hassle?

Check the photo shop sellers on Ebay, usually, they sell USA models (ask if not mentioned), and have at least a month warranty. USA model is very important, because ONLY Nikon can upgrade your firmware.

    Good luck,

    Craig

  7. I am surprised that I got only one suggestion from all the community here?

Anyway, I found the answer in my F5 Hove (I think?) book. It said the 16 2.8D Fisheye lens has 4 filters included, (one being the haze/uv), and that the lens is calibrated so that there should be one of the filters on at all times. I tested this, with no filter of course the camera would not focus to infinity, and with one of the filters on, it focused fine.

  8. Hi to all;

I purchased a used AF Nikkor 16 f2.8D Fisheye. The problem is that it doesnt' seem to focus all the way to infinity. On all my cameras, F5,F100, and the N90S , in the viewfinder it displays the symbol that it needs to be turned a little more towards infinity to be in focus ?

Even when I manually focus, it doesnt' seem to focus to infinity ? Maybe this is why it was for sale ?

All input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    James Turner
