  1. It has already been said two or three times, look at the EXIF data, this will tell you exactly what shutter speed the data was recored at, period. This data is fact, it does not matter about noise or perceived delays.
  2. Supply and demand? If they are selling extremely good, then they can raise the price. Or maybe the old car salesman trick, if a car wasn't selling, raise the price, and it would sell the next day. Too much for my blood.
  3. ..."I know you guys laugh but it is true"

Micki, no laughs from me, I just did not know all the facts, sounds like you know what you need. This past week I took my daughter to Circuit City to check out a DSLR for her, and she fell in love with the E-510. The E-410 was somewhat smaller, and also looked nice.

I am with you Micki, I like to click and go, I see something and capture it in a moment, or the moment. I am not too much into tripods and big equipment setups.

Have fun, tell us what you camera you get.

  4. On sale at Circuit City, $99, the Samsung S630. Very good color handling, awesome macro for such a small camera, and uses AA batteries, which is nice, don't have to take a special charger with you. Just got one yesterday for my daughter. For more money the Nikon S50 is an awesome compact camera. Good luck.
  5. I handled the Sony at Circuit City last week, and it felt very junky in the hand. My daughter has Minolta lenses and I thought I would get her the Alpha, but it just felt very cheap. Maybe I can get her a used 7D, or see what else Sony will offer in the DSLR range?
  6. "we will pay you whatever we can afford"

Guess you got what you paid for. It amazes me how a lot of people want to "cheap out" on the photographer, but they are not afraid to spend the $$ elsewhere? Personally I would rather have more $$ in my budget for photography, because years from the big day your pictures are what you look at, not an open bar or fancy food dish.

Good luck, I hope you can recover some photographs. Also, maybe some guests have some pictures to share?

  7. My F100, after a couple years of use, now eats batteries over night.

I love the F100, even more than my F5, but something has happened, and I can put new batteries in today, not even use the camera, and tomorrow morning they will be dead. It now sits on a shelf, for about 2 years now, and I use my old D1H, which eats batteries terribly too. I would like to have a D2H.
