  1. I noticed that at Adorama Canon 5D (body) now retails for $2,299.95, while in

Canada at Henrys it is Can$2,799.95. I am not sure, bu I believe that both

prices already include Canon's rebate. In any case, a good moment to buy, but

only in USA as Can$ is now at US$1.02. Why are still Canadian prices so high?

  2. Hello, I am considering purchasing a 430 EX TTL and using it on my 20D, for

now. I'd appreciate your user comments and advices on possible issues between

these two equipment pieces that I should be aware of prior to purchasing? Also,

is 430 EX TTL a good choice if I moved towards 5D or similar replacement in the

    future? Thank you.

  3. I still have the 20D with the first, original firmware. I have had no problems with the lock ups or any other whatsoever. Recently I returned from Bolivia and Peru where I shot over 11 hundred photos without a single flaw! I need an advice if I should keep up with the newest firmware or not. From experience of the other 20D owners, sometimes the upgrade is risky and can cause problems. What should I do? Please advise! Thanks.
  4. I would suggest IR filters from Harrison & Harrison. The IR filters they manufacture are the 89-B, 88-A and the 87. All three filters in 77mm are $59.45 each.

  5. I have never tried, but I know there is a company you can send your DR to alter it for IR photograhy. Another way is to use IR filters. This article talks about it: http://www.naturfotograf.com/UV_IR_rev00.html

and the good producers of IR filters are Harrison & Harrison Optical Engineers, Inc. Here is the quote from my recent querry for 77 mm IR filters:

"The IR filters we manufacture are the 89-B, 88-A and the 87. All three filters in 77mm are $59.45 each. To order, please contact the factory direct at the numbers below.

"75 YEARS OF PROGRESS IN PHOTOGRAPHY THROUGH FILTERS."

I have read many positive articles about their IR filters.

As I said, i have not tried any of these solutions. Let me know if and what worked for you.

    Cheers, Bojan

  6. Finally I got my 70-300 DO IS yesterday. Today I was able to test it

at the soccer tournament in Canton, Upper New York State. I am

please with the overall performance. I wanted to share some of the

photos with you in aticipation of Bob Atkinson's announced review!

    Thanks,<div>008yOm-18934684.jpg.2a80eeee29f3a21b1105ecb744e67e54.jpg</div>

  7. Lazo,

poslusaj me, get a digital SLR immediately. The amount of time and money spent in learning to take photos will soon be offset by advantages of digital. I have Digital Rebel, a very nice entry DSLR camera. You will soon learn a great deal of photography by experimenting with its creative controls. Invest more money into lenses that once you outgrow the Drebel can keep for better DSLRs from Canon down the road.

    Good luck and SRECNO!

    Bojan

  8. Sorry to get so late...the lens was EF 24-70 f/2.8 L USM - an excellent, though bit expensive and heavy walk-around lens. I used PhotoShop to resize the document size - basically double the size both in length and width in inches, while increasing resolution from 180 to 200 pixels/inch. I was told by the printers that LightJet printer works well with 200 ppi. I did not check constrain proportions and the resampling was bicubic. I would assume that printers would do this for me at an extra cost.
  9. This photo was taken from Brooklyn on May 14. Digital Rebel with 24-

70 L USM f/2.8, 45 mm, ISO 200 at 1/80 sec. Water was blurred in PS

to give longer exposure and shutter speed. I blew it up to 24"x36"

at 200 pixels/inch. Saved in on CD, took it to phoo printers who

produced a nice poster size photo using LightJet Digital Photo

Printer. No pixelization is noticed on the finished product. I

believe I could have gone even bigger, but at the higher cost.

    Cheers.
