I would prefer an unmanipulated image, it is already a strong subject with excellent composition.

wonderful, reminds Jacek Yerka's paintings.

Critiques appreciated.

Very good picture absolutely but I think a bit below your high standards. I don't think the dark reflection contributes much and if the boulder in front was placed over it with some light on (with a lower viewpoint), it would be a perfect picture imo. Btw, how do you use both the polariser and ND grad without any vignetting? Do you use an oversized pol with a step up ring? Best wishes.

Wasn't this place on a Pink Floyd album cover? I had always thougt it was an imaginary place. I think this building has good potential, a sunset-sunrise light may work wonders. If you can shoot with a long shutter speed at a time when many of those boats are passing (not just one) leaving various light trails on water, it can be very surreal and moody.

Comments welcome, thanks.

Good variation on a common subject, wavy petals and light made the picture stand out. Petal shadows at left also contribute to the image. Very good.

Good light, good composition. Conveys a mood. Very well done.

I like the framing by the trees, it is the cloud that makes it stand out from usual pics of the same place.

Very aesthetic shot, inclusion of foreground marsh is good and I think better than a traditional composition with more sky and less foreground. Btw an excellent demonstration of ND grad filter usage, which always has been a pain for me. Very good picture as your others.

Thanks for any critiques.

The guys look copied and pasted to me, esp the one in front, it seems somewhat sharper than its surroundings (different dof). Apologies if I am wrong, even without the guys this is a very moody picture.
-
Outstanding, I think should be classified as 'macro wild life action' shot; composition, focus and dof are excellent. I wonder how many rolls would be wasted if it were shot on film.

Still looking at to see some uniqueness in the expression and technical qualities that make it stand out from casual portraits, but I fail to see. Another not so worthy pow for me.
-
I am amazed at how the photographer made an assembly from such a dynamic scene. Unique moment in time, well deserved pow.
-
Excellent composition, light and DOF. This one is surely a butterfly, not a moth.
-
Chistian's portfolio is very good. This one? Another controversial POW, since technical and compositional excellence is easy in these type of shots and idea is not extraordinarily original.
-
Tommy, you have an excellent eye for composition and use wide angle lenses skilfully. Your slow exposures are excellent like this one. Impessive portfolio.

Excellent, stands out among similar shots. Bush is no problem, without it the scene would look out of place, like an artificial environment.
