These are the Minarets from Ediza Lake, taken on a summer morning

with about 1000 mosquitoes attacking me. Thanks for your comments.

Nice color, nice sunrise touching the peaks - however, I'd have cropped the foreground somewhat, to emphasize the peaks better. The foreground IS nice, color-wise, but I think some of it can be sacrificed. The foreground rock is a bit distracting, and perhaps a cut above it would redefine and energize the photo more...

Hard to be original with mountains, but it's a lovely shot. Well done. Vibrant colors. I do agree with the foreground rock crop idea. It was distracting for me too.

leave it as is! if you crop out the 'distractions' your left with a pretty postcard of peaks that have probably been photographed before with the alpine glow

This is spectacular scenery and the photo is grrrrreat! I also vote for not cropping anything. I am surprized that this is a 24mm lens for two reasons: the view just seems like it was shot with a 70+mm lens (I am sure this is just my perception). Also, how do you not get a horizontal blue gradient in the sky with such a wide angle lens and a polariser? If the sky in the photo captures an angle of 84°, then the level of polarization should be different? Please let me know what your trick is because I don't use a polarizer on my 24mm for this reason. Thanks.

I really wish you would post this photo as large as some other ones (like the grand canyon one). It would be more enjoyable.

Very aesthetic shot, inclusion of foreground marsh is good and I think better than a traditional composition with more sky and less foreground. Btw an excellent demonstration of ND grad filter usage, which always has been a pain for me. Very good picture as your others.

I don't know who was more successful: You or the mosquitoes?...This is a wonderful shot. My only suggestion is to add a frame around the photo.

I usually try to be very careful with the polarizer at 24mm. But I've found that it can be turned just right to darken the sky a bit while keeping it fairly even. Then I'd use a heavier grad to darken the sky even more. The 3-stop hard ND used here is actually a little too strong, as the reflection is a tad brighter than the sky.

One great spot to photograph, and another great photograph. Hope to visit this spot this year. Didn't know it was accessable by car. I was planning to hike from Agnew Meadows for an overnighter.

This spot is not accessible by car. We hiked in from Agnew Meadows as well, which was not hard to do in one day. We camped at Thousand Island Lake on the second night. It was a very nice 3-day backcountry loop.
