Thanks, the way this falls is situated, I don't believe it ever sees any dramatic morning or evening light, so I did my best with the mid-day light offered.

Thanks for the comments. The shadow is a little distracting, but I overlooked it in favor of the crop I liked best. Perhaps a little more crop wouldn't hurt, though.

Thanks for your input. I actually did crop out some sky, but maybe could have done more. The mountainside behind the trunk is somewhat dark and hard to see detail even in the slide. I darkened this photo a little in Photoshop to what I thought looked good, but after I uploaded it, it looked a bit dark to me as well.
