It's a really good shot, I like it. Cropping might be good, as was said above, the only other thing I noticed about it was there's too much ND in the top of the image, the white clouds are middle gray.

That's a very nice shot of Portland Head. I grew up near there so I've seen _alot_. Kinda makes me anxious to go home :o)

The title may be pretty subjective here, I think it fits perfectly with the mood of the image. Excelant shot, I love your work Tamara.

With those antlers, that whitetail is very much a him :o) Nice idea, I think it works pretty well.

Great shot. A red filter would have been interesting too, would have brought out the drama in the sky alot, and built contrast in the lighter parts of the foreground.
-
I like the bottom part, just not it being flash lit. this might be good with a grad ND filter to allow more exposure on the bottom of the frame without blowing out the top, or having to use flash

I think the image (and the other waves and sand shot I commented on) is a good one, and not nessicarilly too minimalistic (that's a subjective judgement IMO, so it's not unless you think it is), but IMHO it lacks in contrast, so there's no low values to "anchor" the image, not enough overal contrast. I suspect you'd like the way the textures come out if the sand was a a bit darker too. Just make sure the contrast is high enough (long enough development preferably) that the hightlights on the water stay high, otherwise it'll just look muddy. Nice camera by the way :o)

I really like the idea, and the shapes are definently (and lines) to make a really nice image. There just isn't a low value to be found. Maybe less exposure (putting the sand at zone IV, III &1/2 maybe), and giving extended deveopment (maybe N+1 or N+2) to bring out the higher values might look nice. Then again I could be entirely wrong, but that's what I might try anyway. Cool idea for a series.

Would you mind sharing how you set this up? How did you fire the shutter (or lights) at the right time and ignite the match? Thanks very much.

I like the composition and exposure, it looks very green to me though.

I really like this image. I personaly would probably not crop this image, if I were to, I might take some of the rocks in the near foreground, and definently keep the sky as is.

If Yosemite inspires you, don't listen to anyone who tells you to go somewere else. Look for new angles and new things, always, but go were inspires you. This specific image, I like because it's not just about a pice of rock, it has a definte mood, I can tell a bit about the temp, alot about the humidity, you photographed (well, I think) the weather, not just the landscape. I would have probably given this more exposure, which would give El Cap more detail, and hopefully given you some texture in the trees, hard to tell though.

This is an excelant photograph. The tonal values are great. My experiences with Tri-x is that it is quite grainy, particularly in 35mm, nearly as much as Tmax 3200 (rated at 800 or so)

I should do a little cropping on this, as much as I've gotten in the habbit of not cropping anything. I'd like to have used a longer lens, or gotten closer, but my budget didn't allow the former, and this foxes mother didn't allow the later.

Very nice, a little crooked, but that's not too huge of an issue (i.e. it can be fixed in PS or the darkroom if it's printed). Personally I'd have included more of the beach along the whole bottom of the frame, or not at all, but that's just me.
-
Very nice. I'd love to see more of those trees, but I like the foregournd. I wonder how it might look as a vertical, with the stream coming out of the lower left corner of the frame.

Cool shot, I'm a little surprised that with the circ. poleriser, you didn't get a little deeper sky, don't know how much you turned it, but it might help rotating it more to see were you like it best. The scan looks a little bit light, might look better a little darker, and it also looks (to my eye, on my monitor, and those can vary) a little cyan. As for the lightness though, if that's what your slide looks like, that's a descent density to print from (in terms of traditional printing, i.e. cibachrome). Also might want to crop the bit of, what looks like it might be fencing, from the bottom of the print.

I like the idea, and it's executed well. It looks like this was shot with a difuser filter? I wonder how it might look without one. The one thing that did stick out to me, is it looks like she's trying not to laugh, maybe it's just me, or just the way she looks naturally. If she's trying not to laugh, just give the model a few minutes, without talking to her, to kind of forget about the lights, camera, you, etc. Overall I really like it.

A very good reflection shot. Did you bracket the exposure? I always like to with chrome film and reflections, and ussually I like the shot about a half stop under exposed. With slides underexposing slightly helps get more saturated colors (the opposite is true with colog neg). Also you might like the shot a little better with less of the tree in the foreground, but then again, it looks like that might have put you into the water, so sometimes you have to take what you can get. Though I have been known to often stand knee deep in water, with a tripod to get a shot.

I know how hard wildlife photography can be, and this is very good. Excelant moment.
