This is a portrait of my friend Angie, a few months after having her

first child. She wanted to capture her "new" body--stretch marks and

all. It was shot using a hardware-store work light filtered through a

white sheet to the right of her, she was laying on the floor, and I

was standing on a chair.

I like the idea, and it's executed well. It looks like this was shot with a difuser filter? I wonder how it might look without one. The one thing that did stick out to me, is it looks like she's trying not to laugh, maybe it's just me, or just the way she looks naturally. If she's trying not to laugh, just give the model a few minutes, without talking to her, to kind of forget about the lights, camera, you, etc. Overall I really like it.

I like this photo precisely because she is smiling. It wasn't a suppressed laugh, just a little smile. And she's a smiley girl. A more serious expression somehow would have lent it a different feel--I think more of "her" shows through than "a nude woman." You know? Thanks for the wonderful comments.
